Random Untold Stories…
What story do you really want to tell, but no one has asked the right question for you to bring it up?
[cw] How I got free weed once.
Yes, really.
Gonna need some deets there. ;)
@jesusredeemedme2425 Yeah, it was surreal. 😆 If you have any skepticism about it then I don't blame you at all. But I really did get some herb...& might've narrowly avoided a citation, or possibly even a night in jail.
Gonna hafta type this up outside Cups, then copy & paste. It'll take too long to do it all inside the text field here.
Lol no worries

Finally getting around to this:
It was the late 1990's. I was a university student in San Francisco, but on that day our class wasn't meeting in its uselessly academic department on campus. We were to meet at the Cliff House for a class project (I don't recall exactly what we did out there, but it involved going to the base of the cliff itself & the Sutro bath ruins). I biked to the Cliff House, got there early--I probably lived closer to that place than anyone else in my class--& waited for everyone else to show.
While I was slouched on the park bench outside, a guy walked up to me. He had ratty old jeans on, a worn leather vest, no shirt, wraparound shades & the shortest unnaturally blonde buzz cut I'd ever seen in my life at that point while still not being bald. He asked me how I was; I said I was doing okay...it was a nice day to be outside...sunny, warm with a slight breeze off the ocean. It was the usual convo until he said "I lost my wallet when I was swimming in the ocean, man." Of course. This is SF, after all...one of the two homeless meccas of the west coast.
I looked at him & said that I was sorry but that I couldn't help him..."this is all I got", "this" meaning me, my backpack & my bike. (I didn't have any cash) He said
"Are you alright, man?"
I smiled & said "sure, I'm alright. It's just that, you know, I don't have any money."
He turned to walk away & I figured I was rid of this character, but out of the corner of my eye I saw him walk to his van (old & beat-up, like his clothes), open the side door & climb inside. I was feeling pretty relaxed, so my head was down when I saw his shoes as he approached again...immediately I thought oh great. what the *** do you want now? The man said
"Hold out your hand."
I did...& a tiny stream of powdery fragments of plant matter dribbled into my upturned hand.
I dunno what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't that.
For a few seconds I was too surprised to talk, or move. I saw his feet move as the man walked back to his van...I heard him say "it's just shake but it's good stuff." I retracted my still-open hand...
Finally I recovered from my surprise--it could've been five seconds, maybe a smidgen more--looked around...& spotted an SFPD police cruiser parked a few spaces up from where I was sitting.
Seriously.
Don't know what the exact distance was...perhaps 25 feet. I didn't measure it exactly because I was too busy nearly having a godd**n heart attack. Here I am sitting on a park bench on a sidewalk by the Cliff House, some street weirdo gave me some pot right out in the open, & there are law enforcement officers somewhere in the vicinity. As rattled as I was, however, I wasn't one to turn down a gift. Specially if it's herb that smelled fairly good. I jammed my right hand into my pocket as fast & carefully as I could--this was loose weed, remember--unzipped my pack with my left hand & started rooting around in it like a raccoon in a dumpster. I found something to put the weed in (I think it was a sandwich bag), dumped it in, closed up the bag & shoved it inside my backpack--& waiting for a cop to approach me & ask about my clearly suspicious behavior. I zipped up my backpack, put it beside me & sat very still...waiting.
About two minutes later, I heard the street dude slam the side door shut. A few minutes after that he climbed into the front of his van, started it up, backed out & drove away.
No uniformed officer approached. Thank heavens.
About half an hour later, the professor & the rest of my class showed up. I said nothing about the previous events to them. Until now, the only person I ever told about this was my dad a few days afterward.
P.S. Some time later, I put some of the stuff into a pipe I had & fired it up. It did what it was supposed to.
Great story … very memorable … which was more memorable story or the weed lol 🤣?!
@SunShineAlwaysGrateful TBH, the story by far!...I've been higher than when I smoked that stuff. 😏
@jesusredeemedme2425 maybe about someone lost but then again there are some memories that make sense only to those who shared them. Maybe there won't ever be a right question to bring it up or if someone ever did ask the right one then I guess the words would be leaving me as fast as they can.
@jesusredeemedme2425 I know what drowning is like, I drowned temporarily but survived
@genericbeing That's intense. Did your heart stop? Did you have an NDE?
@slowdecline48 Great I wrote this really long story detailing the events of it but 7 cups flagged it as 'being in crisis' I'm not in crisis I was just telling a story but It wouldn't let me post it. But yes NDE.
@jesusredeemedme2425 I found a huge bag of psychedelic mushrooms before, it was probably worth $1,000s. Some druggies were saw me coming and must've thought I was a cop so they threw it off the side of a bridge. I went down to the bottom of this tall bridge to look at fish and found the bag. I destroyed it though because I hate drugs mostly.
@genericbeing You were doing well...until the end!
But seriously, I wish I'd been your neighbor at that time. Would've cheerfully offered to dispose of that dangerous biological material for you.
@slowdecline48 I hate drugs because they just mess up your mind and mine is already messed up enough lol

My random story of 3 incidents that just collided all at once when I was travelling, Day one, I almost drowned while kayaking, day two, I fell of a bike and got severe cuts, mind you, I had also third degree burns and blisters and to top it off nicely, day three, I got stung by a jelly fish in an area that shall best not be mentioned 😁😁
Whaaaaa??? Poor thing :(
@jesusredeemedme2425
Not the greatest three days I've ever had 😁
@jesusredeemedme2425 The time I had an ambulance called over a paper cut 😭 Our store has there paper bags but the edges are not smooth but have this zigzag cut. So. I was bagging someone's shopping when the bag scratched my wrist, vertically in line with my vein. It wasn't really bleeding besides a few spots tiny mini drops in the depth on it somewhere and it seemed to be more of a surface injury. So I decided to finish up the people in line and then ask my colleague to help me disinfect it and cover it with a bandage. Well. That was the plan. But suddenly I started to have a huge head spin so bad I couldn't grab the items I was scanning and my vision started to black out to the point of not seeing anything at all despite having my eyes open. The customer who I was scanning the items for called the emergency for me. And they told us I'm just experiencing a shock from having the cut on a bad place and being a panicking drama queen... Safe to say I was some 112 operator's dumbest case of the day 😭
The injury in question 😭

I see nothing lol
@jesusredeemedme2425 yep. That's the point 😭 it was so small and insignificant that it's not even visible on a lower quality photo upload 😭
Anxiety is obnoxious lol
Oh, I've definitely told this one every chance I get, but I'm pretty sure I haven't mentioned it here.
I was minding my own business at the register, when a guy started coming up to my register with a short stack of movies, wearing a dark hat with the brim low. I grinned. One of the few simple pleasures I got at that job. I knew what the movies were just from the way he looked.. they were the ones from that one little section at the back. It was now my mission to make him as uncomfortable as possible.
Instead of my usual moodiness, I greeted him enthusiastically. Asking him how his day was going, just being as friendly and boisterous as possible without being too obvious about my mission. But... I couldn't help but think... This one looks familiar. I wanted to ask, but I was going to go THAT far making him uncomfy...
...but then, by way of a small miracle, he paid with his card. I read the name as I ran it, and I realized... I felt such a profound joy. Easily the story of the year, right here, and it was all I could do to keep myself from laughing. I've never gotten to have revenge like this. I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I was quickly bagging everything and getting the receipt, already doing a victory dance on the inside.
As soon as I handed it to him, he started to leave, and I said after him "Enjoy your weekend, principal!"
Bwahaha... The way he looked back in horror, his secret identity revealed, trying to place me out of the thousands of students that went through his school, and scared of just what it would do to his reputation.
Guess he shouldn't have interrogated me like a drill sergeant and kept me in detention for two weeks over something I didn't even do back when I was in middle school. I'm sure that a lot more people have heard this story than just the ones I directly told. 😂 I have no remorse for this one.
Few years ago, I remember Me and my friend were on the way home from some school function, just playing around, and I wasn't paying attention when I got hit around my eyes by some construction woods placed near the road.
bcus of that one of the lens from my specs fell out and got lost. Luckily I only had a small cut around my eye. which later got healed.
But that day me and my friend we're both searching my lost lens for hours, and it was kinda dump area. In the end, we gave up looking. And had a rough time on the way home as the weather was not good, plus it was all blury.
Coincidentally, after I reached home in the evening. I found out... that the lost lens has somehow glided through air, and ended up in the side pocket of my bag. XD.
