Someone You Remember
Who’s someone you will always remember? I’m not talking about a close friend. I’m talking about that one random guy who always smiled at you at the bus stop. The older woman on the trail who showed you which plants are edible. The girl who shows you funny memes at work, but you don’t know her name. The child who brings you flowers at his school when you pick up your son.
Who is that person, name known or not, who makes your life a little bit sweeter? That you will always remember? <3

there was a girl in my exam center...two years ago. I know her name, but she wore a mask and I dont know what she looks like without it. I remember her eyes and her voice.
She was– kind. Very kind.
There's a few people that weren't judgemental and knew I was struggling. They didn't say Cheer up. They just tried to make me laugh and lighten up a really difficult unhappy time.
I'm grateful to them, even if I didn't say it. There wasn't anyone I could open up too, that understood me as a person and who wouldn't use it against me, so this was a nice break from the chaotic thoughts and people around me..
There are some very kind people/ interactions I've had irl who helped me without saying a word and left, a kind substitute teacher in exam hall.
I don't know if this one counts but I will always remember that one stranger online who encouraged me to seek help and opened my eyes by sharing his side of the story.

My school crush. Although neither of us asked the other person out, it was evident we had (still do) a soft corner for each other. The way he looked at me and the way he made me feel- I've never felt that way around anyone else. While he was a pain, I liked every bit of his presence and continue to cherish those subtle hints yet.
I remember how our friends group went to McDonald's and he was sitting opposite to me. He asked everyone for a life update except me. He's a social animal and I'm the polar opposite. Then while returning I hailed a taxi called out his name. We took the train together. And he asked if I would reach home safely. Damn!

Heh. This random old man named Marlin who used to come in the hardware store I worked at. He didn't even do anything that special. There was just this aura of kindness and wisdom about him, and his actions were consistent with it. In a way, that makes him the closest I have to a role model. Like... It takes one to know one, and he looked like a guy who's seen a lot of wonderful and terrible things, but he still maintained such a powerful and gentle demeanor. Almost wizardly, without the long beard. I can't really explain it.

A former work colleague I met 30 years ago and who has remained just a message or call away ever since. Supported each other through health issues and life's up and downs.
@RunningMachine
Strimmed out a lot of detail as kept getting an error message 😔
