What's your Unpopular Opinion

Healthcare is not/should not be a political issue. People say that paying for universal healthcare would be far too socialist, but fail to realize that our taxpayer money already goes to hospitals to cover the bill for uninsured people who end up in the ER. It would be cheaper to give them preventative care to avoid a costly ER visit alltogether.

Needs and wants differ greatly

My very unpoopular opinion is snakes.

How people will kill snakes from blind fear, lack of knowledge and for fun. They are living, breathing creatures and to hear how someone brag about killing one just ticks me off. No one would kill a puppy by bashing it with a shovel so why is it okay with snakes? What's worse is the people who are taught that a snake is good, but kill them for fun anyways. The rest kill them becuase they don't like them. Well, I don't like people, but you don't see me wacking them with a shovel, do you?

Whatever the problem is it's not always someone else's fault. We have to accept we could be wrong ourselfs.

An unpopular opinion for me would be that I don't find any celebrities attractive. I know the stans are going to come after me for saying that, but they all look like everyone else. Their features don't make them more talented or skilled.

I hate meat, including bacon. Chicken I don't mind and I enjoy eating seafood. But other than that, I hate meat.

I don't believe in democracy.

By that, I mean I don't venerate it as a secular quasi-heaven the way many westerners--particularly educated ones, who should know better--so often do. Democracy is a certain kind of government. No more, no less. It is not inherently superior to all other government forms & never has been; nor is it appropriate for all nations regardless of culture(s), history or collective character. The degree-toting commentariat believe it nonetheless.

Let's clarify the above. Like most people I abhor dictatorships, whether fascist or socialist. But totalitarian dictatorship is not the only other form of government besides democracy. Other kinds of government have existed more than once & are still optional now...any study of the ancient Greek city-states (or the early Sumerian ones) will tell you so. The computer revolution may make truly efficient & effective government possible, especially if AI reaches its higher potential within the next few decades. I for one am open to such a regime... It might be a nice alternative to the tremendously expensive popularity contests otherwise known as "elections" that put mediocre (or stupid) candidates in office, & to the endless, stale (& somewhat fake) strife between political parties & the agitated mobs that comprise their constituencies.
