[2025 Highlight Reel Series] What is one thing that happened this year that you didn't expect?

Using meds for mental health issues/ challenges.

I feel blessed that I discovered 1221 Art Space quite by accident.

Art Space is an art therapy studio free and open for people with disabilities. about 1/2 mile = 1 km away. It is sponsored by my state's ADAMH (alcohol, drugs and mental health) agency. I was doing my art alone and isolated. Now I have a place I go to everyday to hang out, make new friends, and we all create our art together. We even had a gallery show and I sold a few things!

Definitely the fact that I managed to discover this amazing community. Only a few months ago I was clueless and looking for volunteering opportunities. I managed to stumble upon this website through my university's guidance and I have not ever regretted it :D 

@Heather225 This might be a bizaar post but one thing I didnt see coming happened just less than an hour ago and why it is unexpected is how I handled it. I was asked to watch my granddaughter which I was willing but in a flash the situation got switched around qhich cause me to get angry and blow up as I thought it was this person just turning things around on me so it upset me. Eventually chattin’ to my granddaughter I realized it was not the person who did  the switch up but rather my granddaughter who didnt wanna stay in after being in the house 24/7 for the week due to having the flu. Now I never was one to confront a person to admit I was wrong and explain why I was so quick to jump but I let it be known to the person I needed to Chat to her. I originally asked my daughter to do the talking’ for me giving my long history of shyness but I decided I wanna do my best to do the right thing by confronting the person myself. I need wait to give any updates but hopefully it will turn out. I think by admiting when I am wrong is yet another way to taking care of myself rather than go in hidin’ or have someone else do my dirty work for me when I am in fear of chattin’ to another person.

@Heather225 @Heather225 I applied for a few scholarships and got most of them, which I didn't expect, because chances of being accepted by each one was extremely low. So I feel really grateful that this happened to me this year 🙏

I wouldnt have thought that being such an a-hole and giving people hard time would still leave me with new chance to make it all up.

Also I didnt expect that I would get the job I have now and within the trial period doing that job I will get promoted to project manager, within 3 months working there.

So people, everything ia possible. Even when you yourself cant see it.

hmm tbh it's half half haha from bad and good things , but you can say the bad things kinda destroy me ,I’ve handled quite a decent amount of tough things this year actually  enough to meet next years lol

alot of changes! 

but I can't lie about being grateful for Allah
