[2025 Highlight Reel Series] What is one thing that happened this year that you didn't expect?
Hi, everyone! Thank you for participating in the introduction to our 2025 Highlight Reel series! I really enjoyed reading your replies and hearing your unique award stories!
Let's continue to reflect! 🥰
We often start the year with plans, but life usually has other ideas. As the saying goes, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."
Looking back, what is one thing that happened (good or bad) that you didn't see coming?
Maybe you made a new friend, picked up a hobby you never thought you'd like, or handled a tough situation better than you thought you would.
Whether your unexpected moment was a joyful surprise or a difficult challenge, we want to hear about it. This community is a space where we can share in each other's ups and downs, reminding us that no matter what twists and turns the year brought, we are navigating them together!

@Emleah77 Same here, oh, same here. We are so lucky!!
@Heather225
I never expected to move to Lithuania this year. Prior to this year, I wouldn't have even been able to confidently respond if someone were to ask me if Lithuania was a real or fictional land. But perhaps what was even more shocking was that we had to leave my brother behind. I always thought that, being the oldest, I would be the first to move out, but I guess he beat me this time around.
@Hedgehogs83
Wishing you well in times ahead and hope your brother is doing fine too.💛
@Heather225
I’ve handled quite a decent amount of tough things this year…. Basically enough to meet next years quota too 😅
Lots of changes!
I’m happy my health and my families health are in good condition.
I love the connections I’ve made that were unexpected 🥰❤️
The amount of emotional healing I’ve done!!
I’m looking forward to my job choice and all it has to offer me 💕💕💕
@peachThinker662
Woohoo Peachyy, so much to be grateful for and pat your back for. 💖 I’m super proud of you and hope the next year treats you with more kindness! ☀️
Thank you so much Sunshine!!!!!! Bring on the kindness ❤️
@Heather225 For most part everything was good except for the following:
1. This has been going on for a few years now so nothin’ new here being homeless.
2. A difficult situation which I really never spoke up for myself b’fore but tried to my abusers that allowed me to crash in their home for awhile but when the abuse became emotionally draining I took the risk of leaving knowing full well my medical would also be at risk
3. Finally tho I left the abusive situation I was able to see my doctor which now wont be for quite some time b’fore I can begin to manage to get there again but last time I saw him he started me on a medication that I had taken years ago for osteoporosis. Difference now my vision is failing me so I can no longer read the small print and I am due for cataract surgery and on top of it I have glucoma so reading is difficult unless I can enlarge stuff as I can this site..well I didnt have anyone to read the directions to me and silly me it never dawned on me to call the pharmacy for directions. It ended up with me overdosing myself. Upon calling my doctor he recommended being I am not able to go to him personally to go somewhere to have my electrolytes and blood taken. I feel so dumb at this point. I just assumed it was to be taken like I do all my others meds. I didnt know it was 1 pill a week not 7 pills a week. This is difficult not only for making this error but for taking assuming for granted and finally having the nurse who works with my doctor ask me if I was suicidal. I am not but found it intimidating to be asked that question especially since it was not in my thoughts of doing such a thing but rather it was a simple honest mistake. I just can’t get over having done such a thing even if it is an accident. SMH.
That my husband's death would create a chain reaction of others deaths, and tree issues, sending me to another dimension.
@neonWriter8115 I'm so sorry for you're loses. This year I lost my father and a very good friend close together both from lung cancer. I wasn't able to attend my father's funeral . It's been difficult .
Thank you
@neonWriter8115 "another dimension"?... Would you please explain?
Well due to the stress of dealing with his Glioblastoma for the last 3 years and everything that happened during and after . Something in me snapped and I lost my mind I think ..im still trying to come back from whatever the heck that was. Im struggling to handle all the changes I am faced with right now so in my head im in another dimension.. one that doesn't have all of this ..
@neonWriter8115 it sounds rough... Hopefully you'll have a full recovery.
Thank you im trying . It wasn't supposed to be this way. But I will get there its just taking me time ..
I’m so sorry to hear about loss. That sounds really overwhelming, and I’m really sorry you’re dealing with something that feels so intense.
@hopefulSunrise6483 it really has been. Thank you for your support

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
He's adorable and started crawling yesterday 🥰
Congratulations! He is so adorable and cute 🥰
@Heather225 I didn't expect to have a crush on someone and them be mean to me even though they like me but then meet guys who made me realize I can be treated nicely and be liked.
@peacefulpurple08
Such a humbling experience right?! 😭 I’m so so glad you got to meet better people who treat you nicely.
You deserve the absolute worldddddd. Let nobody else tell you otherwise ever!💛
Meeting the man who became my friend in town...a true friend, plus everything else that followed as a result. I did not see that coming.
@slowdecline48
Superrr happy for you! 💛
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou Yeah, thanks. Normally I dislike surprises as they're a sign that I wasn't paying close enough attention, but this year had a good one... Sometimes my buddy gets on my nerves a little, but then everyone does because I don't have much patience. 😂 And he's a decent guy, which counts for a lot. If you're gonna have friends (who doesn't need one sooner or later), then you need good ones.
@slowdecline48
😂 Right there with you xD about everybody getting on ‘em nerves in some way lol. I think what differentiates friends from just people is that these special people can also sometimes help calm our nerves down. 🥰
I’m glad it was a good surprise hehe, it’s okayyyy (even if it’s superrr difficult and inbuilt) to not be on the look-out for the what-all-could-go-wrong track always, plus gotta surprise our brain at times with the “hey, I’m winning this one 😎 ” too.
Getting little presents from work/company.
@SoftGlisten21
Appreciate the employers who know it’s quintessential to acknowledge and celebrate their employees and teammates! 🥰 Yay gifts!!
@Heather225
Many in my family were hospitalized this yr for different reasons.....my grandma passed away.... My as level scores were just like a nightmare...(Very very low).. I lost in my scl elections... I made the worst decision in my life (don't want to say what it is)... Fed up 😮💨
@shibooo1409
Darn so many rough, devastating experiences from this year :/ so very sorry about your grandma, sending you and family tons of strength and love. 💛
As for your scores and bad decisions, I really hope you’re able to attempt those tests again and make it to your goals.
Realising the decision was bad, is growth.
May the new year treat you with more kindness and love. Be gentle with yourself. 🤗
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou thank u so much...that means a lot 🙂✨
