All about me
Anyone tried putting themselves first for a change?
Like making your life about you and your well being?
Instead of the usual "seeing to everyone first" myth.
My whole life has just been about sacrificing for everyone else, today I choose myself first (and hopefully carry through with it).
Even on the aeroplane they remind you to first secure your own oxygen mask before helping anyone else, I mean what benefit are you to others if you can't breath?
Now to strike the balance between prioritizing myself and being selfish😑or rather coming across as such.
@zaaab You can help others better if you learn to help yourself as well. The balance has to be there. You are human and you have needs, just like the rest of your family. Do think about this. Sometimes, we have to make our voice heard for people to understand or even try to support you. You deserve this upon you to take care of yourself ❤
@zaaab
Hello zaab good to see you express yourself.
Yes many member and myself can relate with what you said. One moment comes and we realise we haven't took care of ourself.
Being aware you need to keep priority will help you to not to be giver or over giver.
There is difference between self care and selfish. You are doing self care.
If our cup is full then only we can give other.

Two years ago when i was sitting in my window seat in airplane, a woman in aisle seat of the row in front of me asked if we could interchange seats because the two ladies in my row were her friends.
I knew i was already not feeling well because i'm claustrophobic and needed to watch outside the window to calm myself. But still i agreed to switch seats.
And then, what a terrible flight it was. Fortunately it was only one hour flight and i got calm when 30 minutes into the air, the pilot announced we'd be landing shortly.
I still keep myself and my needs at the lowest bottom. I hope i can change myself one day!
I'm so sorry to hear this🌸
More often than not we inconvenience ourselves for others.
I can relate to ur incident.
Once on a flight with my two toddlers, I asked the one guy if I could swop seats with him because my kids were gona be sitting alone. Lol he straight up said no.
I found it impolite because I mean it's just a seat and I really needed to be with my kids otherwise it wasn't gona go smooth.. I was honestly shocked at his decline.
However, reading about your incident has made me see it from a different perspective, perhaps he needed it for a reason I could not understand, perhaps this was him putting himself first in a way I couldn't understand.
Thank you for Sharing this. Sometimes we feel it's a small thing and people can just do it as the above example without understanding how it'll impact them.
Wishing you goodness and hope that U too reach a stage where you prioritize yourself 🌸😊

yes, about a year ago and some major family betrayal, I chose to put myself first. I even remember the exact date. It felt so freeing bc I’ve always worried about, felt responsible to help or be there for my family even if they hadn’t been for me. It has been a journey, but I have found in 15 years the times I stepped back, the following years were the happiest, most growth and productive times in my life. I never abandoned them, I just felt trying to “save” them was hurting me and caused more stress and distraction. Once I let those go, I could finally focus on myself. Quick analogy: it felt like being in the ocean and they were flailing around and I’d be reaching out and trying to help them calm or fix their issues, until I realized “wait, I am only in 3 ft of water, I’m ok. I’ve been exhausting all this energy with no real outcomes. I could keep trying with no real results, or focus on my own life.” After all, overextending myself, I couldn’t quite help them anyway. And more, I knew I tried, so letting go of the guilt. It’s not selfish, it’s sometimes realizing we can only do so much, we can only control our own choices and how to be the best versions and learn.
