Am I the Only One Who...?

User Profile: Eman144

Hey everyone 💚

I’ve been thinking lately about how often we feel alone in our thoughts — like no one else could possibly feel the way we do. I wanted to create a space where we can break that silence.

This is a thread where we can all finish the sentence:
👉 “Am I the only one who…”

Whether it’s something deep, awkward, random, emotional, or just super specific — share it here. Chances are, someone else will relate.

A few examples:

  • Am I the only one who feels drained after being around people, even the ones I love?

  • Am I the only one who finds it hard to celebrate my own achievements?

  • Am I the only one who overthinks literally everything?

You’re not weird. You’re not broken. You're human. 🫶

Feel free to reply to others too — a simple “me too” can make someone feel seen. 💬

Let’s be real, be kind, and remind each other that we’re not alone in how we feel. I’ll go first in the comments ⬇️

With care,
[Eman144] 🌿

@Eman144

Am I the only one who doesn't want to grow up?

Am I the only one who thinks life isn't worth living?

Am I the only one who doesn't know what they're studying for, or what they actually want after school?

Am I the only one who'd happily give their life to someone else that deserves it more?

Am I the only that thinks they're ungrateful for everything they have?

I think that's about it :P didn't know i had so many questions in me

You’re definitely not the only one feeling all of that. Growing up can be really scary, and sometimes life feels so overwhelming it’s hard to find the point or the “why” behind everything. Not knowing what you want after school is more common than you think—so many of us are figuring it out as we go.

Feeling like you’d give your life to someone else, or feeling ungrateful despite what you have, are signs you’re wrestling with a lot inside—and that’s okay. It’s okay to have questions. It means you’re thinking deeply about your life and your place in the world.

You’re not alone in any of this, and it’s brave to put it all into words. Thanks for sharing.

Am I the only one that feels like no matter how their life is going, they can never be happy?

Am I the only one that thinks that they are incapable of having a long lasting relationships?

Am I the only one that thinks that there is something inherently wrong with how quiet they are?

@HippieGingerGirl

You’re definitely not the only one. Feeling like happiness is always just out of reach is something many people struggle with, even if everything seems okay on the surface. It’s hard when you doubt your ability to have lasting relationships or when you question yourself just because you’re quiet.

But being quiet doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you—it just means you experience the world differently, and that’s okay. These feelings are tough, but they don’t define your worth or your future.

You’re not alone in this, and it’s okay to take your time figuring things out. Thanks for being so honest.

Am I the only one who can actually see how horrible of a person I actually am?
Am I the only one who instead of running away would fight, even if it meant getting hurt (physically and/or mentally)?
Am I the only one who hates those that can't understand that having a mental disorder doesn't mean having an illness?!
Am I the only one who thinks homophobics and people who think we aren't quote on quote "natural" deserve to suffer, to actually see that they're wrong?!
...Am I the only who only wants to stay in bed, listening to music, and do nothing else?

...Am I the only one who thinks that the world isn't as good as they say?

You’re definitely not the only one feeling all of that. It’s powerful to admit when you see the parts of yourself you struggle with—that takes courage. Fighting instead of running, even when it hurts, shows strength and resilience.

I get the frustration with people who don’t understand mental health or who judge others unfairly. That anger is valid. And wanting to stay in bed, escape with music, and just disconnect? So many of us need that sometimes—it’s okay to rest.

The world can be a hard and unfair place, and it’s okay to feel that too. But remember, even when it feels dark, there’s space for growth, change, and moments of light.

You’re not alone in any of this. Thanks for being real and sharing.

I was just writing about how I know it feels like I’m the only one feeling this way when in reality everyone is fighting battles whether they’re similar to yours or not.

Anyways here are some of mine -

Am I the only one who’s felt this emptiness for so long that it’s become my normal?

Am I the only one who can’t imagine what it’d be like to be “better”?

Am I the only one who wants someone to recognize I’m going through something but don’t want to have to talk about it and let them see how bad I am struggling?

@goldenHuman2604

ou're not the only one—those are the kinds of feelings that live deep under the surface, and most people never talk about them, even though they carry them every day.

That emptiness becoming your normal? Yeah… it’s like you forget what it felt like to not feel that way. And the idea of being "better" starts to feel like some distant thing that only exists for other people. I get it.

Wanting someone to just notice without having to explain—wishing someone could see the pain without needing the words—that’s such a real and lonely feeling. You're not alone in any of this. And just the fact that you wrote it out like this? That’s strength. Seriously.

Am I the only who has headaches really strongs? It hurts so much that I even cry, I can't breathe when it happens, even if I try, I have passed out from it, right now it just started again, I live with pills for that problem, pain pills

@Chabini

I’m so sorry you’re going through that. You’re definitely not the only one who experiences pain like that, but that doesn’t make it any less awful or scary. What you’re describing sounds intense—crying, not being able to breathe, passing out… that’s not just a headache, that’s suffering.

Living with pain pills just to get by is a heavy reality. I really hope you have someone—doctor, family, or friend—who’s taking this seriously, because no one should have to live like that without help or support.

You’re not alone. And I hope so much that you find real relief soon. You deserve that.

Thank you so much. I really needed that.

I have my mom or dad sometimes, rarely my brother, I just needed to let it out to make it stop hurting

Again thank you so much :D

@Chabini

You're very welcome 😊 I'm really glad you reached out and shared what you're feeling — that takes strength. It's okay to need someone to listen, especially when things hurt deep inside. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to carry it all by yourself.

Whenever you need to talk or just let it out again, I’m here for you.

Take care of yourself 💛

Am I the only one who is desperately lonely and needs real connection with people but is unable to even keep up with an online friendship?

@MusicJunkie67

You're definitely not the only one who feels that way. What you're describing—deep loneliness mixed with the struggle to maintain even digital connections—is something many people experience, even though it’s not always openly talked about.

Loneliness doesn’t always come from a lack of people around; it often comes from not feeling deeply connected, understood, or emotionally safe. And when you're feeling isolated or overwhelmed, even small interactions—like replying to a message—can feel like too much. That doesn’t make you weak or broken. It just means you’re human and maybe running low on emotional resources right now.

If you're open to it, we can talk about what connection does feel safe or meaningful to you—what kind of relationships or support you're craving, and what’s been getting in the way. There's no pressure, and no judgment. Just a space to explore things honestly.

Am I the only one who gets obsessed with someone so much to the extent I want to suicide but the other person literally has no idea about it because I show him otherwise from my behaviour like I'm not at all interested in him but in private I'm dying for him.

Most of the time it's for someone very much older than me due to my childhood traumatic experience.

@powerfulSky4180

You're not alone in this. What you’ve shared is deeply painful, and also more common than you might think—though many people carry it in silence, just like you have been.

Getting intensely attached to someone—especially someone older, or emotionally unavailable—can often be tied to unmet needs from childhood. Trauma, emotional neglect, or a lack of safe connection growing up can shape the way we attach to people later. Sometimes, the brain starts to associate that kind of intense longing with survival, and the emotional stakes feel impossibly high. That’s not your fault. It’s how the mind tries to make sense of old wounds using the relationships it encounters now.

Feeling like you're dying inside while showing the opposite on the outside is a kind of emotional survival mechanism. You've probably learned to hide your pain because somewhere along the way, it felt safer—or necessary—to pretend everything was okay.

But carrying all of this alone can become unbearable. If you’re feeling suicidal, please don’t sit with that in silence. Reaching out to a mental health professional, a crisis line, or even just someone you trust could make a real difference. You deserve support—not just to survive, but to feel seen, understood, and cared for.

Would you like help finding resources or just want to talk more about what you’re feeling? Either is okay. You don't have to go through this alone.
