Attractive people, count your blessings - not all of us are so lucky
@pinkfloydFan6226 what does attractive actually mean!?! Because it's different for , and it's not all about looks you know people are attracted to the person behind the mask 💖 noone has it easy
@Tinywhisper11 Not me, that's for sure. And I feel unable to do anything about it
@pinkfloydFan6226 there are things you can do, I'm sure I've mentioned this before but try a new hairstyle or hair colour, change up your wardrobe. Just a little confidence can get you a long way 💖
@Tinywhisper11 You name it, I've tried it
@pinkfloydFan6226 then perhaps your trying to date the wrong people
@Tinywhisper11 Nah, I'm the wrong person, on the wrong planet. I could count the amount of times women have shown interest in me on one hand
@pinkfloydFan6226 maybe you should take a break from the dating scene, learn to love and accept yourself first 💖
@Tinywhisper11 Well, after this long dry spell and lack of interest from women, you've no idea how hard that is!
@pinkfloydFan6226 yeah I'm sorry I'm not the best person to talk to about dating issues 😕 I've never dated anyone and I never intend to. I hope someone else here can help you out with this 💖
@Tinywhisper11 Thanks. I suppose the only thing I can do is vent here. And thanks for having the patience to put up with it from me lol
@pinkfloydFan6226 Being attractive isn't just about looks. It's personality too. Being a good person. Being kind and thoughtful. A sense of humor. Physical features can fade with time. But inner beauty is something truly magical
@mytwistedsoul I have all of the above, and it's not enough
@pinkfloydFan6226 You're not too pushy with your approach? Not too full of yourself? You're polite and hold the door, say please and thank you?
It might not be a you thing. A lot of women seem to be deciding to stay single and enjoying their independence
@mytwistedsoul I try to be as kind and polite as I can be to everyone. And no, a lot of women want to date, and they do, but none of them want to date me. Sorry, but I think my weirdness and the fact I'm *** at pretty much everything are just too off-putting, but there's little I can do about it
@pinkfloydFan6226 Ah man I'm sorry I'm not any help. Maybe spend some time working out? Not to bulk up but maybe tone your muscles. Is there a hobby you do or could do to help you meet new people? Being able to dance might help
@mytwistedsoul But I dance (and move) funny lol because I'm on the spectrum
@pinkfloydFan6226 I don't think that should be an issue but I know some people can be closed minded. For the right person it won't be an issue. I'm sorry I wish I had some better advice or suggestions for you
@mytwistedsoul Well, you've either got it or you haven't, and the sad truth is I haven't. I suppose the only thing I can do is vent here
@pinkfloydFan6226 Absolutely nothing wrong with venting that's for sure. I hope you do find someone nice soon. She's out there you two just haven't found each other yet
Warning ⚠️ Long Post Alert 🚨
I’m a middle aged man now. My hair is starting to fall out. I currently got “dad bod” with no kids to officially justify it. Physically, I’ve been conventionally “cute” all my life. I literally had model friends while in school - men and women who get paid to wear fashion and pose for ads and artwork. These people have been in major brand commercials (Nerf, Mercedes Benz, Dior, Lands End, Hollister).
With those qualifiers out of the way, I’ve asked them what makes a model a successful model. They all say it has to do with personality. The camera can see emotion and personality in the hands of a good professional operator. Fashion brands sell emotion, not raw visible beauty contrary to popular belief. You could be the most physically perfect human being like the proverbial Greek God or Goddess and still get turned down by these ad agencies.
So, when it comes to attractiveness, personal comes first if you’re extroverted. Most of these models are at minimum ambiverts yet most are extroverted. Let me make that clear. Personality is king for extroverts - and ad agencies. Personality makes or breaks long term relationships too. But we’re not concerned with long term if we can’t even get a 3rd date eh?
People forget we’re in a world run by extroverts. Introverts don’t reveal their personality much in a social settings where one would meet people “traditionally“. Physical attractiveness absolutely matters for introverts - especially if you’re a man. You’re not going to ask people out as much as the extrovert in person. Some of the women have to come to you if you’re going to have the same chances as an extrovert. Dating is a numbers game - don’t let anyone tell you different.
So, I hear you loud and clear. If you are clinically on the autism spectrum, this matters even more. You are not wrong. Your issues on this are very real.
So, while introverts momentarily rejoiced when dating apps became popular, they also quickly realized that in absence of having a magnetic physical presence, they have to sell themselves through pictures and writing. The golden era of dating apps was short lived as people started getting brainwashed by the dating companies that we are all literally commodities in the dating scene. The people with the best ads win - the people who are extroverts and are crazy beautiful took the dating app industry over in short order from the introverts. This is where we are. Even extroverts don’t date without an app now. We’re in their domain again. It sucks.
Give it a few more years and you’ll see a culture shift in Western civilization to more conservative values. What was old will become new again. Dating apps will die. People will become more tolerant out of necessity. It will get better.
There‘s hope for us yet.
@pinkfloydFan6226 everyone should count their blessings.... and attractive people maybe blessed in one way , it doesn't mean they dont have other struggles ... also even the people who are generally considered highly attractive by others do go through body image issues... if it wasn't the case, the gorgeous celebrities we can't stop gushing over won't be running for cosmetic procedures ...
@Creamyyy I'm not just talking about looks
@pinkfloydFan6226 okay.
@Creamyyy Yeah, I'm weird, a geek, and there's only so much I'm good at - I'm a recently self-diagnosed ASD
@pinkfloydFan6226 loving yourself might bring you more joy than a partnership ...
And again I can assure you those in relationships dont have it any easier as far as life struggles are concerned. Look deeper into people's lives and then you will see the vast variety of problems that exist out there.
Not to sound proud but I have been considered attractive by people around me - and all that did for me was bring rapists and power abusers in my life. After all my trauma I dont date now and don't engage much socially. Life is beautiful and peaceful alone. Of course we are all human and we want to be loved - i feel it too at times- but deep down i know im much better off alone ...So yes, no one has it easy.
I knew of an extremely beautiful girl... kind and friendly as well... she was with me in university... dated a guy who was possessive of her due to her attractiveness and who ended up slitting her throat and she died... I have never forgotten that tragedy. Still brings pain - was the only child of her parents - they grieved the loss of their 20 year old - may no parent go through that. May her soul rest in peace.
I had a male cousin - extremely charming - won a pageant even - got loads of female attention- and i guess he got spoilt so he got into multiple partnerships - was murdered by a woman's boyfriend eventually because he had slept with her.
Sorry I really digressed here.... I just wanted to say - count your blessings whatever you have ... you dont know what a different life package could have looked like. Make the best life from whatever you've been given.
♥️
@pinkfloydFan6226 I just wanted to add. I didn't want to invalidate your feelings in any way. When i joined this app 4 years back all I talked to the listeners was about how alone I felt without a relationship and I received tonnes of acceptance for my feelings and also a gentle push in the direction of embracing self love. I can't be more grateful. Today I feel much better than from where I started.
So yeah just from experience... I think the answer is in self love .
Ain’t this the truth! The irony is that while their looks got them the audition, it was their performance that got them the part. Sometimes actors forget this just like models forget this. Most models are way more down the earth than the actors though. Models know on a raw level young and natural beauty is ephemeral while actors somehow don’t understand this and do some crazy cosmetic surgery.
