August Wellness Month Series: "A Little Something For Your Mind"

In celebration of Wellness Month, we're checking in with ourselves and holding ourselves accountable through sharing A Little Something.
We opened the series by checking in with your body. Be sure to visit that post as well and let me know what you did today to nurture your vessel!
Now, onto the mind!
🧠 What is one thing you did to give your mind a break today? Maybe you listened to a podcast, read a chapter of a book, challenged negative thoughts, practiced positive self-talk, overcome some obstacle in your mind, or maybe even just performed some deep breathing to clear your head.
🌱 Challenge yourself to build up a healthy habit by returning to this post every day for the rest of August and share your little something you did for your mind.
🤝 And to really make this series wealthy and healthy, respond to your peers to give kudos and encouragement!
Looking forward to celebrating better wellness for everyone!

Hi there
I am watching a little movie on prime just getting a Lil break from the world.
@Heather225 day 1 of trying this wellness challenge and today I'm going to wash my face and do a deep cleaning with a face mask and exfoliating scrub
I had some positive thoughts about a tough situation and it made me feel like "wow am i really thinking this through". @Heather225
@Heather225 I rested and cooked something that I was craving.
@Heather225 I took my dog out for a fetch sesh. Seeing his wiggle butt running and playing takes my mind off most things.
I donated blood today (my 37th donation altogether so far) - just to be clear, in my country this is a voluntary activity with no remuneration - and when I got home I took it very easy (including a long nap) while trying not to feel guilty about not being active for the rest of the day. That and trying to quieten the constant (usually negative) self talk, self blame, regrets about past events, and worry about the future, can be very exhausting but I'm trying to keep things in perspective and to reframe. Or, if that fails, simply reminding myself that any negative slump will eventually pass even if it can be very difficult to sit with it... Sorry for rambling, but maybe the stream of consciousness might help or resonate with someone else... 🤞
@Heather225
I journaled, deep breathed, joined a group session, loved a kid.
@Heather225
If I have time, I like going walking in nature. There is a saltwater estuary near where I live. You can see sting rays, fish, terns, ospreys, turtles, etc. If I can't go out, I illustrate. This turns my focus to drawing instead of focusing on my negative inner voice.
Love this ❤️
@Heather225 I dont know if it counts but I picked up a new board game and learned how to play it !
@greengoopyalien
