Being busy is good but not always healthy

Often people advice be busy. Focus on things which you like. So you don't overthink or feel much.

We all do that at some moment when situation out of control or it like happened. We can't do anything.

We can't bear the pain or can't survive lonely.

But often I observed it like avoiding what going inside. Often it escapism from reality. For few their emotions get numb. For me it good to be occupied to avoid overthinking but when mine is normal I have to deal with it else supressed emotions or avoided one come out as anger or nervousness or illness. So it healthy and unhealthy depend what the reason of being busy.

I'm on the same page as you 💚😊

I love to be busy but I don't like to brush things under the carpet or like them to fester.

I like to deal with them quickly and process my emotions and then when I do, I dont like to revisit it or continue to go over the same ground that you've moved on from 😊💚

One part of your practice I need to learn.

Not to revisit.

Going over old ground for me anyways, doesn't ever offer any new insights, just leaves me stuck back at the beginning!

I agree with that.  I need to be very busy or my mind would overthink, anxiety would kick in.  I would feel more stressed with my life.
But yes too much work is not good for the health.

Same I also keep myself occupied thn when I am little free my mind overthink and bring all emotions which I was avoiding. So now I am learning not to aovid them. Little by little feel it.. comfort it.. n let it go.

Yeah… I completely agree with you. Most of the time, I keep myself busy just to escape the chaos inside me. For a moment, it works—I feel lighter, almost okay. But the weight never really leaves.

The silence exposes everything. When there’s nothing to distract me, all the buried emotions rush back at once, louder and heavier than before. That’s when it hits me: distraction is only a painkiller. It numbs, but it never heals the wound.

The hardest part is knowing I’m still not brave enough to fully face my own emotions. And that truth hurts.

Thank you for sharing this with us 💝 I’m really glad I came across your thread—it made me feel less isolated. 😊

Definitely not alone. Being alone most of the time I struggle to be distracted but the worst time for me is when trying to sleep when my body is physically at rest the monkies dart partying, currently 4 am....

Very true being busy should be balanced and it also depends upon person to person.

Yes hiding head under the sand will not resolve anything. Courage to face the reality is important but how to face? When Fear,, stress and anxiety don’t let you to be brave enough!!! Any concrete solution?
