Diary entry #1 (Belated birthday)
So my birthday passed…
and it didn’t feel anything like the ones I had as a kid. Back then, the day felt magical. Now it feels quieter, almost hollow.
I wasn’t excited because it was my birthday.
I was excited because it’s the only day I get attention
the only day I feel noticed, loved, or even remembered.
And admitting that hurts more than I thought it would.
My birthday also reminded me of people who used to mean everything to me… people who aren’t here anymore. Their memories hit harder on days like this old laughter, old comfort, old versions of me. It stings, but softly.
Still, every year I age up, I grow into a new version of myself. A version that’s stronger, wiser, quieter, but more aware of what she deserves. A version that survives things she never speaks about. A version that feels deeply but still moves forward.
Maybe one day, I’ll find people like me
people who aren’t selfish or temporary,
people who understand me, see through my layers,
and bring out the real me hiding behind all my versions.
Maybe next year, my birthday won’t feel this heavy.
Maybe I won’t have to wait for one day in the year to feel important.
Until then… I’m letting myself feel everything.
The hurt, the hope, the growth
because even this version of me deserves to be heard. Happy belated birthday to me 🤍

Happy belated birthday! We sometimes start seeing occasions as what they are: just days that seem important to a human or other people but the reason why it seems important is because other people say it is and that other people treat it as an important date.
But we do not have to do what society expects us to do like celebrating our birthdaycoupled with a huge feast and receiving gifts. It is our free will and if some people celebrate their birthday alone, that is their choice. A choice they must have control over.
Special occasions are special because they rarely come by or are not as frequent.
But what should have been special is how we kind,y treat each other without expecting anything in return. A simple text about asking how something is doing, sharing an umbrella because you did not bring your own, and offering a free ride to a friend who is walking to their place in the rain.
Those things shouldn't be reserved for special occasions or only be reserved for when there is a day for you to be treated in a special way.
It should be done because you want others to be treated the same way you want to be treated: with compassion and expecting nothing in return.
Well i feel the same way
