I hope you find some helpful insights here 🍀🤍

just started EMDR one i am doing is  safe EMDR so far i found it helpful. at first was scared to try EMDR, but now glad am.  my therapist  told me that could get worst before better. this due to bring up the memories to work through them.

so far she  helped us bring up one memory.  yes the first session  of doing this was hard. but on 3rd one and i feel better less emotional when connected with that memory.

i would say it worth a try see how first few sessions  go. therapist  i have said i can stop at any time. if you try the EMDR make sure one doing it is giving you that option  to stop at any time if you need too

What’s a session like?

there different  ways to do them but one i doing now is the therapist   move her finger  slowly back and forth as  i follow her finger  first before that i pick out a memory that is like very uncomfortable  and after  she  move her finger  back and forth so many times she ask what i feeling then she say go with that repeat the finger movement for so many times then ask again if still feeling the feeling the same   or less then if it a different  feeling she say go with that she do that until either better as far as discomfort  with memory or  close to end of session  then at end she do with me a form of putting the memory in a container  and when feeling safe that it  in container  that be end of session  can work on one memory for some time she said depends on  different  things and person

i only did 3 sessions so far but seems to be helping so far she did tell me could get worst before better  too

@jesusredeemedme2425 I have heard great things about EMDR!!! Especially when working towards healing parts that need support past traditional talk therapy.

I did a course of EMDR. My therapist at the time was learning how to use it in the practice and asked if I’d be willing to be the first person to use it with them. I can’t say that I felt it to be of much therapeutic benefit, other than an interesting experience. I wouldn’t use my results as meaning anything, though. I’m infamous for having paradoxical reactions! I know others who claim that it helped them immensely.

I know that it's really useful to rework past traumas and it permits to neutralize the negative effects of the trauma itself. I suppose that it's a really good instrument to work on yourself.
