Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone have tried that method of psychotherapy called EMDR. I was suggested this method.,but i am a bit hesitated. Not sure if it would be effective. I heard it is a bit exhausting.i thought to hear others ' experiences to help guide me in decision.

I have not personally undergone this type of treatment but I think firstly what would ne important is to contact the facility who offers the treatment, ask questions, research it and then you will be more informed as to be able to make a decision that works best for you 💜🥰 Good luck with everything and welcome to seven cups 💜🥰
So any of you have problem... I would like to be a listener or a problem solver
The main thing about EMDR is find a therapist that asks you if the speed/direction of finger movement or other method etc. suits you, and that seems very caring and is carefully listening to your feedback, and helps you feel safe, not judged, before you start.
Bad EMDR is a counsellor that seems to boss you around too much or rush you, and that can make things tiring. It can be tiring, but each session you should feel a sense of achievement and positivity, and feel safe before you leave the session. If not, the therapist isn't competent enough, so try and find a new one. Too many therapists think they can just wave their fingers and that's enough, but it won't help you feel safe enough or make progress easily.
All the best on your journey.
