Fears that hold us back
Sometimes quiet fears prevent us from moving forward or being our true selves. Here are 8 reflections on common fears and how we can reframe them:
- Fear of what others think: People are far more focused on their own lives than we realize no one remembers what you do as much as you do.
- Fear of making the wrong decision: Avoiding a choice is a choice in itself and it often keeps us feeling stuck.
- Fear of being different: No one who truly inspires you ever achieved great things by trying to fit into the mold.
- Fear of rejection: Those who truly value and care about you will embrace you for who you are.
- Fear of making mistakes: Making mistakes is a natural part of growth to learn and evolve, we must allow ourselves space to fail.
- Fear of judgment: Other people's opinions last only a few seconds, but the regret of holding back can last a lifetime.
- Fear of taking risks: Staying entirely safe keeps everything the same; if you don't take a chance, nothing changes.
- Fear of not being ready: Readiness doesn't arrive before action; taking the first step is the only way to actually become ready.
Which of these fears feels most familiar to you right now and how do you usually work through it?

That's me, no risk always playing it safe...that's just how I roll!

People always say you have to take risks to win, but you know what? It’s okay if you want to play it safe too!!! You don’t always have to take a risk just because everyone else tells you to.

I used to think that taking a risk was just like rolling the dice. It was completely random whether you would make it or not.
Then confidently heard an interview with a young chef. He talked about taking a risk opening a new restaurant. He had never done anything like that before in his life. But he was more prepared than he thought - he had lots of experience working in restaurants and he loved cooking. Then he talked about how hard he worked the first year, and I realized all of his effort that year changed the probability of success for him.
So often, risk feels like it is totally outside our control. But it's not - we can change the odds in our favor.
@ladykitana Yes fears hold people back. There are two solutions which I found very helpful. The first one is exposure matrix ie listing all that you are sfraid of in a notepad app or in a sheet of paper rating all those fears on a scale of 1-10 rearranging them in ascending order from the least scariest to the most scariest based on the rating and overcoming them from the least frightening one. The second is visualisation ie seeing yourself overcoming a particular fear.Of course lifestyle things like reducing screentime being in nature and being with good friends and family go a long way.If you can't be in nature listen to nature sounds like river flowing ocean waves rain sounds on spotify and sound cloud. Use forest app site blocker Google stayfocsed or a tic tac timer to reduce screentime.
@ladykitana set the grey scale option to grey contour in your smartphone it takes you a long away when it comes to redcung screentime.
