Feeling alone
Sorry I hope it is okay that I am writing in this forum as am not really sure really where I fit…... Think this is my exact problem and way am feeling to lead me here actually.
i am proud of who I am, like sort of, as much as I can given my major set backs and flaws.
I have a need to be liked and am not confident in myself enough to stand alone and be happy nor secure.
I crave validation and approval, want to fit in and am always on edge colleagues are talking about me. Some is paranoia but other times it is real and I don’t know what to do.
I don’t want to be alone

i don’t want to care and most of all I don’t want to compare myself which am always doing
Hi,
I completely understand your situation. It is always hard to feel the need for approval from others. I also struggle with this and it has been a while since I felt I can be on my own. I find that needing the validation can end up trying to please people too much which then makes them use you. Unfortunately, when they don't need you, they tend to drift away and then they do not help you back when you need them. I am also trying to be on my own without needing anyone for happiness. Many times I tried to please people and ended up having major disappointments when they ignore me when I struggle with depression. It is impossible to be completely carefree but I go to therapy and it helps me quite a lot. Hope this helps.
I also wanted to add that the fact that you are caring means that you are a very good person no matter what others may think.
I understand you I do, Because I am the same way. I have always struggled with always needing that validation and needing to be the one everyone likes, doing anything just to try and fit in and feel like you belong. I am in my 30s and its still a challenge to work through but know that you are not alone in this. I have found that being in a place where everyone gets it we all have something that we are working through and being able to talk to someone and even make a genuine friend really helps. Even Just talking and letting it all out really does make a difference specially when you know the other person really understands you.
