Feel like giving up

I'm extremely overwhelmed and very disappointed. I planned a meeting with a psychologist that was in my insurance network but I guess they don't take it anymore and I didn't realize until after I planned it and out of network pay for one appointment is like 250$ a lot of the other people I've looked at in my derictory are either dead or have like no availability. It's very upsetting. I'm so mad my parents didn't help me work through my problems as a kid because they're ablist and don't understand. I'm so stressed and upset. I just want to know what I'm going through and I don't think I should have to pay thousands of dollars just to figure it out. I'm so overwhelmed

I've looked into it but it's hard to tell. A lot of the people don't take my insurance, have availability that doesn't fit mine, or are dead! I looked up like 5 people in my insurance directory who turned out to be dead lol. It's really outdated and I can't really use third party directory services for my insurance so it's complicated. This person sounds like a good fit for me and I just assumed they'd take my insurance but after I booked an appointment I realized they're website didn't list my insurance as one they accept. I'm afraid tbh. If it's like 3-5 sessions I'm okay paying out of network but I can't afford to do it long term because that's like 60% of my pay check.

Lucky the therapist I see is mostly covered by insurance but they can't diagnose autism in my area and that's the main thing I want to know about myself.

Idk maybe it'll work out so that I'll only have a few sessions but I'm afraid that it'll be a long term thing and I can't afford to do that.

I never really thought of that. I kinda thought that was only for crisis. I don't really feel like I'm in one rn idk

No, they’ve actually just helped me find resources when I couldn’t find any myself. And they’ll just talk to you and help you calm down and everything too <3

I might call them. Idk... I feel so lost. I've been eating so much crap recently. I just don't understand why my life is like this... I'm trying to be hopeful. I haven't talked to my therapist in 3 weeks so I think that's not helping either. It all feels so pointless rn

That sounds incredibly frustrating… like you were already overwhelmed, finally took a step to get help, and then hit a wall you didn’t expect. I can hear how much that disappointment and stress is piling up on you.

It also makes sense that it’s bringing up deeper feelings about not being supported earlier in life. That kind of hurt doesn’t just disappear, especially when you’re trying to figure things out on your own now.

And the cost piece just adds another layer—it’s not just emotional, it’s practical pressure too. No wonder it feels like too much all at once.

I’m really glad you shared this. You don’t have to carry all of that quietly.💙

@agreeableSkies9889 I am so sorry you are dealing with this. It makes sense that you feel overwhelmed and frustrated after finally trying to get help and then running into insurance and availability problems. That would be exhausting for anyone, especially while already carrying so much stress and feeling unsupported by your parents. Wanting answers about what you're going through is completely valid, and you deserve support without having to struggle this hard to find it. Even though things feel overwhelming right now, the fact that you're still trying to reach out for help shows a lot of strength. I am here to listen.

I'm estranged with my family. They did not teach me so much. I had to figure it out myself and fail. It's frustrating BC ur not blaming your saying I don't have a support system and I really need one. I hear you loud and clear. I will listen

Your not alone. I'm struggling hard right now. I will listen 🤗😎

@agreeableSkies9889

can feel your  frustrated  and overwhelmed  your not alone in this any more  here for you.  yes can be very hard to find help and costly.  so sorry that  addling another layer to what you going through.

when younger i had that issue so can relate. you already took the first step. that being your aware somethings going on mentally  with you. that a very hard step and your seeking help another step too

each small step adds up yes when one hits walls it hard not to give up we believe in you. will carry hope for you as you keep trying to get help offline and online

That sounds harsh. I really hope you find a way to make yourself feel better, and always remember that you’re never alone

We’re all fighting our own battles, and it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed along the way
