I often look for validation from others of their love. “this particular person loves me and this is how they show it…” Wondering if people love me. My romantic relationships have been built on me trying to help the person, to change them and then yay they really love me. This is an exhausting cycle. I do know WHY I do.

I just don’t understand how you fall in love with myself.

There’s a lot of things ii don’t like about myself—-wanting to change them. Trying to focus more on the present than the past. Journal. Attempting to do activities on my own. I think these fall into self care.🤔

What are some things you do in effort to love yourself?

Youre on the right track. Youre engaging in self care activities and youre figuring out how you have been in your relationships - this will definitely show up in the results of how you feel about yourself and the kind of relationships you have.

I have had a long journey with learning self love and Im happy with my progress. I did benefit a lot from people's compliments and gestures suggesting admiration. This app taught me how the voice of compassion looked like. Kind words of others became my own voice. Journaling helped me become self aware - which is crucial to any change for growth.

Learning how to love yourself and love others is a life long process. As long as we keep growing, its a beautiful victory ♥️

@Creamyyy

 thank you for your feedback with this. I genuinely appreciate it. I run on instant gratification. Time and patience is a practice. Loving others and not comparing myself is without a doubt crucial.

If youve recognised that youre going for instant gratification, that's a big step towards progress already đź’›

Comparing is natural to everyone... but one can seek connection instead of competition... as a way to eliminate the negative effects of comparison... we all have a lot in common in spite of our unique talents, personalities and circumstances.... that same human connection is really uplifting .💛✨️
