Grieving is difficult

I’m new to this app so I’m not sure I’m doing this right…

But really need to vent or at least know I’m not alone.

Anyone know how to deal with losing a parent? I recently lost my mom to cancer (and was not prepared since it happened very fast) and it’s really messed me up mentally.

Hello!

I appreciate your kind words. Reaching out for help has always been a difficult task since I’ve always been made to feel that showing emotions was a sign of weakness. Over the years I am getting better at expressing how I feel. But sometimes old habits come back, especially with a traumatic situation like this. It has been months since she passed but I’m finally allowing myself to open up about how it has made me feel.

I admire your courage in opening up about your feelings. It takes strength to break free from old habits and embrace vulnerability. Remember, expressing your emotions is a sign of resilience, not weakness. You're on a path of healing, and it's completely normal for grief to take time. Keep moving forward, and you'll find support and understanding here.
