Having a hard time cleaning
I have accumulated so much stuff over the months, and now having a hard time cleaning. I might give up. Just so much difficulty and feeling angry at myself for accumulating stuff.

Breaking it up into smaller chunks always helps me keep motivated. Little by little! Having a podcast or music on in the background also helps me! 💜
I have a similar problem. I don't think that we collect too much, as much as it is that there are so many people in such a small household who all have their own stuff. I kind of like the paper bag method. I will set out for paper bags. One for stuff I don't want anymore, when for stuff that goes elsewhere, one for stuff I want to keep but not put away right now, and one for stuff I'm not sure of. That way I can take the bag that goes out to donate. The bag of things that belong somewhere else to put them away. And the bag of stuff I want to keep to put it away when I'm ready. And the bag I'm not sure of to sit and look at again another day. Don't be too hard on yourself. It doesn't help it just frustrate you and keeps you from doing what you want done. You have my complete empathy in this one. It's a long process and always ongoing for me.

Thank you for your kind words, at least I won't feel so alone now. I also like the komari method.

I'm not familiar with that method. But I do find remembering that it's always going to be a work in progress helpful. And the reason is not because I'm lazy but because what we need and want changes, so there were always be things that have passed their usefulness for us. Hopefully they are useful to someone else.

It can be really overwhelming to regain control over your space (physical and mental) when it hasn't been organised in a while.
De-cluttering spaces or getting rid of stuff you no longer want is an exercise in decision making. I have found it useful to equate it to getting back to fitness after a longish break. So we ramp it up slowly rather than attempt to run a marathon all at once. Starting small maybe 10 minutes in the day and work your decision-making stamina up steadily to be able to plan and sort larger spaces.

Thank you, I'll try to follow your advice. I think the preparation time has passed for me. It took me a month actually :) Take care. <3

I completely understand. I am now sitting at my 2 month old desk, typing with an actual keyboard and using a mouse I bought 5 months age, that finally got moved into my bedroom today. I needed these things for accessibility as well as for my plan for remembering all I need to do to get better. Although it was very important, it couldn't be done sooner because I had everything in the floor, in the way. Now much of it is on my bed and I must clean it very soon or sleep on the couch!!! I always make a bigger mess with the sorting and choosing keep or go, before I can get to the actual organizing. Hang in there. Rome wasn't built in a day. If you want it done, you will get it done, in your own sweet time and your own way.

I feel your pain. I have been trying to downsize for a few years now and am getting nowhere because I keep procrastinating. I just have no motivation to do what needs to be done.
