I don't know what to do now

The truth is that I am very introverted and shy with people, going out even with my family generates enormous stress for me, so much so that sometimes my stomach hurts or I get nauseous. For me, something as simple as going to the movies or getting a haircut is deeply complicated, and that's why I don't have any friends physically. I tried to make friends online and also try to meet a special someone, you know... I guess I could use some loving for once. But I've tried everything and I always come back to the same point, the only thing that makes me feel better is simply believing that in 5 or 10 years when I grow up I will be less shy and I will be able to do those things without fear. Although I feel honest, I'm increasingly starting to believe that simply having people by my side is not for me, at least not for now.

Sorry if I write a lot, but there's so much I've kept back...

They always tell me "Just wait and these things will come" but it is very frustrating when I have literally gone 3 years without seeing anyone physically other than my family or strangers on the street, without seeing any friend or a girl I'm in love with.

Thanks for being so honest and sharing your vulnerabilities 💕💜

I can see how hard it is and painful and I understand what you mean but trust me, it doesn't go away, it gets harder. Its important to put the work in, and to slowly do things daily that allows you to build up your confidence. You matter, you deserve happiness and contentment and to be loved, you have plenty to offer, remind yourself of this, the longer, you leave it, the harder it is, start with your family first, genuinely sending you my best wishes 💕💜

@Amanda84

I really appreciate your words 😭

It's nice to feel supported in some way, and I feel like you're right—if I just let it be, it might be harder to work on it later... I'll try to start with my family, and although I'm still scared and panicky about trying to interact with people... I guess the fear is worth it if it allows me to find happiness in the end

Thank you for your advice and good wishes, it's what I needed most right now ❤️‍🩹.

I want to let you know you are not alone... some people just have deeper anxiety about going out and doing things. Took me a long time to see that, I too got a stomach ache and I backed out of things until I saw it was a convenient excuse.

I am glad you see waiting does not make it easier as @Amanda64 said.   It always confuses me when a parent is telling someone to  "just wait".   Think of anything in life that takes someone to try or practice to master ........no one just at a specific point knows how to ride a bike or drive... etc

Nothing just shows up in our life  without effort  because we reach an age or time frame.  It takes working through our hesitancy / anxiety and fear.

You are not alone with the way your are feeling.
I am also very introverted and shy. For me these traits never went away.
I hope you can over come your shyness and make friends easier than I ever had to.
Being introverted sure does not help with social anxiety and being out around people.
