I feel lost

Hiiii how's everyone doing?

I'm at a lost for words, I don't even know if this counts as a thread, some things will just be blurted out because my vessel is full.

My body feels numb. My tummy is turning. Not sure if I'm coming or going. There's a lump in my throat. My heart is pounding. My head is spinning And tears are just pouring. I'm not sure what I'm feeling but it's not comfortable. I'm mentally and emotionally drained. Trying to get into a calm space before my kids get home. Just for today, I'd like to be whole for them. But I cannot even smile.

So I lay apon my bed suffocated by My thoughts, to be honest I don't even know what I'm thinking. Looking for the courage to get up and tackle this day.

But everything has left my body, only my soul remains

And she too, is tired

She wishes to scream but no sound dares to leave.

She wants to speak out but her tongue won't come operate.

She's the only one that wants goodness for me but the rest of my limbs have betrayed me and turned on her

Blank blank blank

I have no idea what I'm doing or what I'm expecting from this post, but thanks

Trigger warning : addiction, self harm

Recently found out that my husband has a gambling problem. His behavior is irratic, so I'm always on edge not knowing what to expect.

Last night he stormed out of the house because I wouldn't give him money. He had spoken before about harming himself, he won't take any calls, no responses.

Any advice to help those affected by someone else's addiction will be most welcome because I honestly don't know what to do anymore

@zaaab

I'm sorry to hear about everything,Honey. You have been so brave and strong.

(Gentle reminder; we can't give advice here on 7 Cups of tea according to the rules)

And I'm afraid that I won't be capable of giving any support here as I'm a teenager...

But I encourage you to connect with a listener and I hope everything will turns out soon.

@zaaab wraps you up in a cosy blanket and hugs you tightly ❤ mental health issues are so hard to learn to live alongside with, bless you 🙁 it sounds like you need a mental break to just relax and think about yourself for a while. Is there anyone who could look after your little ones, for a weekend??

have you talked to a doctor about all this? They will know how to help you best ❤ hugs you again, I hope you will be ok ❤

@zaaab

ank you for reaching out and sharing such a deeply vulnerable part of yourself. I want you to know that your feelings are valid, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. It sounds like you’re carrying a tremendous weight right now, and it’s understandable to feel numb and exhausted.

It’s important to recognize that it's perfectly alright to not have all the answers or to feel unsure of what to do next. Sometimes, just allowing yourself to be present with your feelings without needing to fix them right away can be a small but meaningful step. Your desire to be whole for your children shows the depth of your love and care for them, even as you navigate through your own struggles.

Consider giving yourself permission to take small, gentle steps towards comfort. It might help to focus on grounding techniques—simple things like deep breathing, slowly acknowledging each sensation in your body, or finding a quiet, comforting space to sit for a moment. If it feels right, try to reach out to someone who can offer support, whether it's a friend, family member, or a mental health professional.

Please remember, you don’t have to go through this alone. There are people who care and want to support you through these challenging moments. Taking care of yourself, even in small ways, is a courageous step.

Take care.

Thank you for responding 🌸

Right now I'm just very drained.. Really having a tough time navigating through this. I don't easily speak abt it which makes it 10 times worse hence me joining 7cups..

Thus far 3 listeners have ghosted me, for some or other reason. Which makes me feel pretty pathetic 😣

Hopefully some energy surfaces and I'm able to try out your suggestions.

I appreciate this

@zaaab

I am truly sorry to hear about your 7Cups experience, and hope you find a good listener who may be able to help you out.

I understand you may not have the strength to do the below, but I hope that you start feeling better soon, and then whatever seems good from the below, try. These suggestions aim to help you manage fatigue gently and provide some relief as you navigate through this challenging time:

Acknowledge Your Feelings: It’s okay to feel drained and discouraged. Allow yourself to recognize these emotions without judgment. Feeling pathetic is a common reaction when you’re already feeling vulnerable, but it doesn’t reflect your worth or strength.

Engage in Small Self-Care Actions: Even when you’re feeling very drained, small acts of self-care can be beneficial. Simple things like drinking water, taking short walks, or listening to soothing music can make a difference.

Connect with Supportive People: If you have friends or family members who have been understanding in the past, consider reaching out to them. Sometimes a familiar, supportive person can make a big difference.

Practice Gentle Self-Compassion: Remind yourself that it's okay to feel overwhelmed and that reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Be kind to yourself and recognize the effort you’re making to find support.

Keep Trying: It’s tough when you don’t get the support you need right away, but keep trying. Your perseverance is a testament to your strength, and finding the right support might take a few tries. Continue to be patient and compassionate with yourself as you navigate this challenging time.

Establish a Routine: Creating a daily routine can provide a sense of stability and control. Include small, manageable tasks that give you a sense of accomplishment each day.

Set Realistic Expectations: It’s important to set achievable goals for yourself. Break tasks into smaller steps to avoid feeling overwhelmed and to help you make gradual progress.

Consider Mindfulness or Meditation: Practicing mindfulness or meditation can help ground you and reduce feelings of anxiety. Even a few minutes a day can make a difference.

Allow Yourself to Rest: Give yourself permission to rest and take breaks. It’s important to recharge and not push yourself too hard, especially when you’re feeling drained.

Engage in Creative Outlets: Activities like drawing, writing, or playing music can help express emotions and provide a sense of release and satisfaction.

Limit Social Media Consumption: Reducing time spent on social media can help minimize feelings of comparison or inadequacy and allow you to focus on your own well-being.

Practice Gratitude: Take a moment each day to reflect on something you’re grateful for. Keeping a gratitude journal can help shift your focus to positive aspects of your life.

Explore Physical Activity: Gentle exercise, like stretching or yoga, can help release tension and boost your mood. Choose activities that feel manageable and enjoyable for you.

Use Affirmations: Positive affirmations can help counter negative thoughts and reinforce a positive mindset. Remind yourself of your strengths and abilities.

Engage in Relaxation Techniques: Techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation or deep breathing exercises can help reduce physical symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Seek Out Enjoyable Activities: Engage in hobbies or activities that bring you joy, even if they seem small. Doing something you enjoy can provide temporary relief and lift your spirits.

Create a Comforting Environment: Surround yourself with comforting and pleasant items in your space, like soft blankets or calming scents, to create a soothing atmosphere.

Develop a Support Plan: Create a list of resources and people to contact when you need support. Having a plan in place can help you feel more prepared and less isolated.

Allow for Rest Breaks: Give yourself permission to take frequent short breaks throughout the day. Resting, even for a few minutes, can help recharge your energy.

Simplify Tasks: Focus on doing the most essential tasks and let go of non-urgent ones. Prioritize what’s most important and let other things wait.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dehydration can contribute to fatigue and feeling unwell.

Eat Nourishing Foods: Opt for light, healthy meals that are easy to digest. Foods rich in vitamins and minerals can provide a gentle energy boost.

Practice Gentle Stretching: Light stretching or gentle movements can help release physical tension and improve circulation, which may help you feel a bit more energized.

Create a Relaxing Bedtime Routine: Develop a calming routine before bed to improve sleep quality. This might include activities like reading a book or taking a warm bath.

Limit Caffeine and Sugar: While it might be tempting to reach for caffeine or sugary snacks for a quick boost, these can lead to energy crashes. Opt for balanced meals and snacks instead.

Use Relaxation Apps: Consider using apps designed for relaxation or guided meditation. These can help you unwind and reduce stress without requiring much effort.

Allow Yourself to Say No: It’s okay to decline additional responsibilities or social invitations if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Prioritize your own needs.

Engage in Gentle Self-Care: Activities like listening to soothing music, using aromatherapy, or wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket can offer comfort and relaxation without requiring much energy.

Take care.
