My mom and i had a fight kind of she has a habit of talking about other people a lot cousins, friends daughters ,random people in the internet to push me forward to perform more and i personally don'twant to hear it i do not care about others business comparing doesn't work on me either i got more snappy recently with my mom because i m just tired and i said when she was once again talking about my cousin "mom you already told us this before already"she frowned and scolded me for being disrespectful and left the room i knew she ll make the house *** for me as always she said she ll no longer be responsible for driving us anywhere so we live in our mom's apartment in another town since it is where my college is i got a bit angry and it took me some time to calm down i went to apologise later and she wouldn't even look at me she kept ignoring me throughout the day then she announced angrily that she ll no longer do anything for me or my sister who did nothing wrong i mean why punish her with me too she says she won't drive us or pay for any bills or do nothing and it isn't her responsibility mind you we aren't allowed to work my father made me apologise again and it has been the most humiliating experience of my life i ll never forget it even if i die my mom is always right she is never wrong and i m tired of all of this i kept saying i was wrong and it was a slip and she kept screaming at me saying she didn't raise me well that i m rude and she ll never forgive me ever the only thing that stopped her from hitting me is probably since i m old now it sure didn't when i was younger i wish she never gave birth to me i wish she got an abortion i wish i died instead of the baby boys they wanted so much i wish i could leave this house once and for all what pains me is that i don't hate my mom but she is making it so hard with everything in me to keep tolerating this i m tired and i know it won't end here she ll make it even bigger and torture me with it i feel so helpless i wish i was older i wish i didn't rely on them so much .

@wisteria28 - that a is great news but you always have to give some thought to the band-aid effect. A band-aid is temporary while it may conceal the wound, it may continue to bleed again or get infected if you don't treat it. Blow-up like the one you described between you and your mom, fueled with misunderstandings, feelings of disrespect on her part and despair on yours, could easily bubble up again if the root cause is not addressed and resolved. You love you mom, and as annoying and frustrating as it may be for you when she talks about you to others, beleive it or not, it is the love she has for you, to want more for and to see success that is driving that. The method may not be favorable the but motive is clear. So while you both are wading in calm waters, see if you can tactfully ease into a conversation about your ambitions and goals. Tell her you want share with her some thoughts about what you would like to pursue in life. That could take care of 2 things if she is in the mindset to receive it. First, it lets her know that you are not just sitting around idle with no plans do anything ( hopefully this will curb the desire to talk to so many people about you), The second thing it may do is give her some purpose in the process. You sharing with her is an invitation to be a sounding board for you, and it allow her as a parent to feel less helpless about not being to help propel their child forward. The end goal is that you both will have your own new created space of trust and sharing that would allow you to peel off that band-aid hopefully for good.

Thank you I will do that we did talk about most of those things and i ended up crying a lot in the process and hugging her and while we did made up I still feel a bit sad about the way that fight went and how she responded now it honestly feels hard to rely on my parents i don't want to keep relying on them i want to grow up quickly ☺️it isn't easy to talk about everything with my mom but i know she loves me no matter how wierdly she expresses it she does a lot for me i appreciate it but still i want to live my life on my own terms this time thank you so much for your support💗💗

Hey girlie. I understand what all u must be feeling right now. But you need to understand that this is her first time being a mother as well and it can be quite overwhelming. Her reaction might have been harsh and you must be exhausted tolerating all this. But, it's important that u know that sometimes our brains are wired to magnify the situation and make us feel things deeply. While it is completely normal, keep in mind that it's all just a phase. Keep ur spirits high and try engaging in things that bring you joy. While it is difficult for any of us to understand what u feel, we trust u can deal with things better and be stronger! I hope you get back with a happier note💓

Hi girl, I understand you because I experienced the same thing, my mom used to tell me and even compare me with my cousins in every situation like "you are not as good as ...) and I got mad and angry and when I got angry I cursed my cousins in front of her because I got jealous and I see myself better than them and I was actually better than them but my mom became more angrier and told me that I'm envious of themð¤£

Actually we had tooo much clashes and it never ended because we were not flexible we always got irritated when saw our parents keep telling stories about others with passion

But after Years , we all changed

When I recalled these situations and told mom why you were like that she answered she never meant to hurt me she wanted to encourage me to keep the good work, this is their way to tell that I want you to do your best and they can't express themselves the best way, they are humans and parents yes

But they are trying

So my opinion to u is to try not to involve with your emotions in these talks, don't take it personally and steer the Convo elsewhere like yes mom you are right they are good people and then you change the subject

Don't attack your mom, I know this is hard but this is the best solution to keep in touch with your mom, you love your mom and mom loves you.
