I hate nostalgic feeling because it's making me feel sad
when that sudden wave of nostalgia hits, I realized things are not the same anymore.
I too feel the same now that I think about it, those nights when I used to game with my best friend as a kid who is not with me anymore and will never be again, I feel like the whole world has nothing more left. But then I realize that it's only negative patterns because I have a lot to do, a lot that I can do. And the fact that I can create new memories of what I truly want, with people I can't visit in current circumstances but will be able to after I reach my goals, my world regains its colors. True some things are lost and if we try we can't get the same things we used to get even if we get the material value of them or substitute for their stead, it's worth the try. Just never lose hope, keep moving forward. Life has a lot more to explore than you think, the world is vast and the opportunities infinite. Feel free to vent out your sorrow friend and try to not dwell upon so much in the past, present is something you shall try to focus upon and think of it as a chance to regain what's lost or maybe something even better :_)
@IncognitoPanda your words really give me good spirit, thank you for telling me this. What you said is all true. Thanks a lot 🥺🙏
it's very difficult for me to live in the present because I keep on looking back.. and hardly accept that friends are not the same anymore but I understand how time changes anything.. I still need to learn how to accept and your words helped me to renew my point of view. So thank you!
It's interesting that you've raised this, as I've just watched a YouTube video on this very topic. What I can tell you is that nostalgia is very deceptive, as our memories over time filter out the negative feelings from that time we're feeling nostalgic for, so we're led to believe that those were the good old days. They weren't - we just see them through a very selective filter compared to the full-spectrum emotionality we experience currently. The video is by a Youtuber called Alistair and titled "Why are we so obsessed with mostalgia?"

I can relate to this so much. Everyone around me says that nostalgia is a good feeling but to me it feels like a punch. I hate it and I can feel heart aching. I still can't put my finger around the feeling but it's bittersweet.
You're not alone, I can relate to this. It's hard knowing that things have changed and are constantly changing. If only we could rewind and enjoy those times again but, it's probably for the best that we've lived out those memories and that they'll never come back.
@Paliloveyourself yes.. I know, but it's still difficult for me to not look back and accept things as it is... and I blame it to those nostalgic memories 🥲. Thank you for telling me your opinion, hugs for us. 🫂🧡
How you feel is completely valid. I know that even saying that it's a good thing those times are gone doesn't necessarily make it easier to cope. It's weird how nostalgia can have negative effects on us although it is usually shown as positive, or bittersweet. At this point, I'm not too sure what nostalgia is supposed to make us feel. Or maybe, we just feel what we feel and there's no exact way to say how we're supposed to feel. Sorry, I don't know if this helps at all I just wanted to share some thoughts I had.
