I just want to feel accepted somewhere anywhere
I've never had a family or a chance to communicate and make friends till I was rescued when I was 18 years old. My communication skills are very limited. I'm not good with conversation and understanding things. So I found humour. I find people always need a little humour to help feel better about themselves. But I'm not sure if people actually know who I am or if anyone likes me. I've given up on the need to feel loved it cared for. But being accepted would be nice. I don't leave the care home where I live because I don't look normal and I don't want to get hurt. I'm not sure what I'm saying. I just want to know that maybe someone, never mind
.
Hi tiny,
Hope you are doing well
I really understand your position and self doubt which you have . I really feel for you .what you have gone through in life is most traumatizing and though none of us can ever imagine the level of atrocities you have gone through ,i must say that i personally can feel that and would like to say no matter if someone else accepts you or not i am there for you
Take care and your most strongest woman i have met . In case I can be of any help ,please don't hesitate i would be more than happy to be at your side
Hi Tiny I am a genuinely nice person and no one likes me either. I am told it is my tone of voice, or my accent.
My philosophy is the world is full of people who make false judgements based on appearances and there’s nothing to be done about it but to vent. People are not going to change to suit us and I cannot change who I am anymore than you can change who you are. And despite their opinion I know who I am. We are all alone in this world and our relationship with ourselves is most important. So I work on actually being kind and try not to mind.
It hurts doesn’t it? It makes me feel worthless. But it is not true. And I tell myself this every day: I know they are wrong; my feelings are not facts; I have no control over others who are mostly not doing it “to me”, they’re just going about their lives.
It isn’t easy being different in any way from the herd. But it does make us unique!
safe hugs
PS I am also disabled and shut in.
@greenTalker5250 hi gives you big tiny hug ❤ it's certainly not easy being different no. But I had a different life from most. I was born into a christian cult I was kept locked up made to have sex. And tortured. I wasn't allowed to speak. But that ended a few years ago but as left me disabled in a wheelchair. Missing limbs and things. I've tried really hard to fit into this new life this new world. It's very very hard
You communicate incredibly well. I can imagine what you went through: my parents who were also religious fanatics in a place religious fanaticism was accepted used to call the police and have them handcuff me naked and beat me if I did not do what they wanted. Nothing compared with your experience but I have a vague idea.
Today I have the opposite challenge to yours: I look normal but am in intense physical pain constantly from “tiny” fractures to my cervical spine. It’s when I talk that people start to really be put off. And it doesn’t seem to be what I say, but my accent. I have come to dread seeing or speaking to anyone.
I do not require caregivers yet. I am told I shall and I am terrified of being around another person. I’d love to know how you manage to be around others?
@greenTalker5250 awww really wants to hug you ❤ I actually live in a old folks nursing home. So I have female and male carers. Which yeah is scary. Because my spine is broken my legs became dead weights so they had to amputate them. I can't do much for myself. I need help with showers getting dressed and most things. First it was scary now it's more embarrassing. But theese people are professional s your will be too, so try not to be too scared ❤and I'm 22 years old so I am the only young resident here so I get treated like a princess 😁 I wish you all the best ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience. I don’t know how you stay so positive. It has to be so much harder for you than me and I cannot imagine. Thank you you helped me so much.
@greenTalker5250 it doesn't matter who's had it easy or who had it hard we all suffer and struggle in the same ways. ❤ just stay strong. We will be ok ❤ 🤗
You are a really lovely person. You have a tremendous amount to offer us all. Stay strong. If ever you would like to chat I would love to listen.
safe hugs!
@Tinywhisper11
Hi, I hope you know you’re not alone and you seem like an incredible person. I know it’s hard to tell from just one post, so you might think I’m just saying that, but I mean it. I’ve been in a similar situation and I understand some of what you mentioned feeling. I hope you have a wonderful day!
