I'm done waiting for my dad to love me
I'm so done waiting my dad to love me. He will never fully love me. He only ever points out the negative, all the mistakes I make, and everything I do wrong. When I do something right, or work to accomplish something, it's never acknowledged. He never tells me he's proud of me.
I generally feel nervous, tense, and on edge around my parents. I used to think I had an anxiety disorder but once I move out and become independent I'm sure most of my "anxiety" symptoms will resolve. I rarely feel anxious or stressed when I'm at work or school, but on the way home my stomach churns sometimes.
I'm done waiting. I am just gonna try not to care. Not always possible given that it has tangible effects on my life beyond just my emotional state.

I am sorry you are going through this ... far too many Dads seem to have this issue sometimes moms too. it is not that hard to say you are proud of your child and overlook and forgive any small mistake...
I think many parents do not see not giving praises or encouragement does the opposite of them expecting the child to try harder and harder....
waiting for it if it is are not coming is more then disappointing. have you ever spoke up?
my kids spoke up to me and reminded me my parent did not give me that .......did i want to continue the cycle was a big wake up ....
I feel exactly the same! Just this morning I had a breakdown about how much I want him to acknowledge me and finally change his distant behavior towards me. I am sure it will never happen and he is not willing to change anyways. I have to find other sources of support because I will never get any from him. It feels very lonely and isolating and it took such a big toll on my mental health(I have severe depression and anxiety) . Everyone in my family wants to force ne to mend this relationship but I didn't break it in the beginning! To be honest it was never even there! So why would I put efforts if he doesn't? It's not fair and I rather will put my energy into something I like like a hobby or just some self care instead of making me feel even more sad. Because I've tried many times to start a conversation with him but it just never works. Tho it is kinda better than last year but still it's nowhere near a normal father daughter relationship should be.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this, it's such a hard thing to deal with. I hope things will get better for both of us❤️
Sending you hugs❤️❤️❤️

Have you talked to your dad about how you feel? He might not know
