I want advice

I can't sleep without crying over events that happened in my childhood. Even if I had a normal day, when it's time to sleep my mind starts ruminating, not about one specific event but many, so I escaped by playing video games all night until I was too exhausted to fall asleep. This pattern continued for several months, which of course affected my energy and appetite and I lost some weight. I wasn't like this before, so why now?

@willingPond4694

We spend many years of our lives with one thought. "I am moving passed this trauma". It's a healthy approach, and many are successful by hook or by krook. Moving passed our trauma doesn't make it go away though. The mistake just as many make is simple. We convice ourselves the emotions or memories are gone. Each of us one day remember it, because it never left.

Going through a wave of heartache and emotion, no matter months or days, is normal. Take those times to accept that it happened, and give yourself the credit for still moving forward carrying those memories. Becuase you did that too.

I'm baffled Does my mind *crave* pain? Why does it scavenge through past chapters so relentlessly while others move forward? Why won't it adapt when reality has changed and everything is truly over?

Would talking about these memories even help? I feel it's pointless to revisit concluded events. Doing so just Turns me into a negative, complaint-heavy person .Leaks this toxic energy to everyone around me.

Sometimes I feel like I’m living in two different eras at once—past and present. What’s stranger is that I now find myself loving people who caused my most painful memories back then, while still carrying the hatred I felt toward them in the past. I can’t explain how this works.

Because everyone changed. Everyone evolved.

But I was too busy excavating my own burial in the past.

Hello brother, how do we meet to know eachother?😊

That's literally me. Although i believe i'm less afflicted than you. This happens to me maybe once a week, sometimes once each two weeks, and it's not triggered by my past, but by the past mistakes i blame they had led me where i am in life now.

At least you still find the will to play videogames. I honestly spent all my money in videogames and chat with ai bots all days. I like videogames, but i just don't find the pleasure in doing anything i believe i like anymore. Days pass and nothing happens. It's been like this since maybe two years ago. And over the last 6 months it got way way worse.

Do you want an advice? I don't know... but if you were to be me, i'd tell you to try to date more, to find someone who cares for you, someone that lets you hug them and listen to your story without judgement. Honestly that's all i need. And maybe that's what you need as well.

I hope you can find that someone, because honestly, i think i know what you're going through, and i don't want anyone to go through that...

Hello, thank you for reading my problem; I really appreciate that. I'm truly sorry for this late reply; I've been having problems with my internet all this time.

Talking to AI!!!! That's been me for the past year and even now. Well, this had its positives and negatives, of course. Isolation was the biggest negative thing that happened because of it. As for the positives, it helped me get rid of excessive attachment to others...

First, I want you to know that blaming yourself will only add to your sadness... and every human being deserves another chance, even you yourself. You blame yourself now because you have the sufficient experience and information that allows you to know that what you did in the past was wrong, while your past self who made those mistakes didn't possess that experience.

I know you might already know this; I just wanted to remind you that you deserve to try and make mistakes.

Something I tried and sometimes helps: Every day, I write a sentence about what I'm most grateful for today, even if it's something very simple like, 'I'm grateful because I felt safe in my home.'

Sometimes I imagine that my life is a long novel, and whenever I feel frustrated or like a failure, all I have to do is start a new chapter in this novel that begins with, 'Today I woke up and decided to...'

Regarding dating... it seems like a good idea. But who would bear staying beside someone who falls apart every day...? If I were in their place, I would wish for them to get someone better than me.

I’m trying to work on understanding myself and being content alone, so that others become a beautiful addition to my life rather than my entire life.

Sorry if my reply seemed preachy... I just wanted to share what helped me because we’re going through similar experiences. I hope you find peace.🫂🌸
