Loneliness

How do you do deal with it or perhaps, what makes it easier to cope with?

That goes for physical affection too. What I wouldn't give to just touch, hug or feel a person thats intimate with myself.

Or those very late texting conversations I used to have with my ex, sure it wasn't physical contact per say; it was something I miss in a way.

I try to ignore the feelings mainly, but it cannot hurt I suppose to talk about them.

Good point. I think it’s nice to talk about these feelings. For me, if I feel my friends are not available to talk, I like coming on here and sometimes going in the chat rooms. It helps me feel less alone. <3 💜

I call warmlines a lot. It's nice because you don't have to be in crisis like on a hotline. Over the past few years, I've 7-8 of the operators have gotten to know me and my story and I get excited when one of them picks up.

I don't really have a solution for the physical affection thing. I think about my ex a lot, too. It was kind of a dysfunctional relationship and had an unexpected and explosive ending, but there was a lot of mutual love, great chemistry, and it felt nice being together.

It was at the beginning of the pandemic, so most of it happened over text. I think we only met 3-4x. But it was so much fun to chat and I really enjoyed thinking up creative gifts to surprise her.

I've had other, healthier relationships since then, and eventually chose to be single for awhile. But this is the one person my mind always wanders back to.

If I felt like I could handle it, I'd get a cat or dog. I grew up with cats and they were my main source of physical affection as a kid, and I feel grateful for it.
