Mother of Mine
I lost my mother, and I’m going through immense pain and heartbreak. Crying and then numb and then the process repeats. I want to know what are the things you did who have gone through this and how to overcome it. I’m lost in isolation.
@ExploringMinds I'm sorry for your loss. Loss of a loved one brings immense pain. I understand your feelings and am glad you decided to express yourself.
I lost my aunt some years back and she was like a parent to me. So I can relate to you. I prayed for her. We shared stories about her amongst my siblings. I would write down all the things I learnt from her. It brought me joy.
I strongly believe peoples legacy stays through you. My aunts contribution to my life wont go waste. Her love for me won't be forgotten. I will live and serve to my best ability. In honor of the nurturing Ive received. Your mother too will always live in your heart and in how you live- because you have been shaped by her influence.
Some people dont think that time is the best healer but I do. I think grief requires processing things on repeat till they become accepted by you.
Would you like to share any fond memory about your mother with us? I would be happy to learn a little about her and maybe it will be cathartic for you to express ? Let me know 💛
Thank you very much for your support @Creamyyy. It’s immense for me, the external support. I have stopped crying for now, maybe of numbness. Sleeping with her clothes by my side, smelling of her essence. It gives me some solace. I have been with her through and through, so now she’s gone, I’m completely alone. One thing that I like about her that she never stopped smiling whether it’s the most toughest day or situations. Today I am because of my mother. She taught us to fight and that we are doing now, but it’s tough as the leader is gone. But have to fight. Time always heal, I have been saying it to anyone who goes through bad phase, but now I’m on their side. I hope that time comes fast. Her memories, pics, videos are all that is now of her, and it will be a driver to lead me forward. But I will miss her every day of my life.
@ExploringMinds you mention such a deep point. How loss can transform you to take responsibility previously shouldered by another person. You are so right. She showed you what bravery looked like. Now its your turn to be the leader.
Hearing about your love for her is so touching. I'm glad you enjoyed her companionship. The fact that she smiled even on the hard days is a wonderful example she set. Im happy you shared about her with us. 💛
Thanks for reaching out @Creamyyy. People like you, we are not lost and show us how communication and community is important for human lives. My mom was everything for me, now I will embrace her without her body, but in feeling and spirit.
@ExploringMinds It is heartbreaking to hear the loss of mother. But she is not lost, you're gonna meet her when you leave this world. Life is short, don't make your mom feel sad seeing her son crying, cos that makes her feel empty too. Carry her light and make her proud. I know it is difficult for you to manage things without her, cos she is your biggest support, but she wants you to be like her - acting like a superwoman and handling multiple tasks and still smiling with family.
Thank you very much @Caringdancer6649. If I can be 1 percent of her, then I’ll try as much as I can. But I’ll keep fighting.
Time heals. I’m so sorry that you are dealing with losing your mother. What I did was share my feelings with my brother, my friends and other family, and tried to be kind to myself by taking the time and space to get over the initial shock and then learn how to live with it. If you can do something to celebrate her life and the things that made her special, that might help too. Hang in there. You’ll be ok and it’s ok to not be ok right now. Sending you hugs
Thank you very much @PeacefulWarrior1967. Seeing your bio, I can’t think of how much you’ve gone through. Everyday till last, I will live for my mom. And guide my life through her teachings and courage.
So sorry friend, I understand how you are feeling right now I too experienced such when I lost my dad in the most painful way. What I did was to always talk to people on how I'm feeling never isolate myself do the things that made me happy talk about our fun days together and these brought real joy to me.
Thanks @Suaray1212. I’m actually doing what you mentioned above. That’s bringing some solace. Isolation is tough, but I’m trying to mingle as much as possible.
@ExploringMinds. ☹️🫶
