Operating for the world and not myself

I have a major issue with caring what people think about me too much. I actually sit back and ask myself "why are you posting this" "why did you buy that" "why are you saying that" and it's never because I want to, it's always to look good for strangers and people who I actually do know. This then turns into insecurity but I'm a master at covering it up and hiding it but I can't hide it from myself. Even my girlfriend asks me "why do you care" and I never have an answer. I have a good job, pretty good life and I still care what people think about every little thing. I'm not even sure where this insecurity comes from, I'm sure it's some unresolved trauma from somewhere. Then after every interaction with people I think "maybe I should've said _____” I rarely go to social events because I'II be anxious all night, then I'll take a shot and feel loose but then I'll replay the entire night the next day and give myself a headache trying to mentally "fix" a night that nothing went wrong. I also tell myself I have main character syndrome because clearly people have a lot better things to worry about than if I looked cool or lame.

Anyway, any advice would help. I'm ranting

It sounds like are talking about anxiety to us..

I hope you can find a way to relax when anxiety hits.

A tip is to just sit back and observe your thoughts instead of reacting..

Good luck🌟

I do care too much about how men perceive me... It happens to me everytime I go outside. Right now I'm struggling to come close to what happens to me but I'm going to try to explain myself. I go out I feel like being watched by drivers, or I see a group of men and I want to be seen by them... To notice me when I walk close but at the same time I'm kinda very self conscious... Like being seen bc they find me pretty or something idk. I have acne rosácea, sometimes i'm fine other times I'm having a breakout and I don't feel like going outside but I have to so I do go outside. But I feel more self-conscious about it and I feel like being watched by others and so and so and so. I feel like the ugliest girl with the worst skin everrr.

Also it happens to me that is hard for me to say "no" to people.

I struggle with the same I repeat like a cassette in my head situations that happened during the week or the day. I go to a place to do different theraphies, 4 days per week. Everytime a guy I find attractive is new(his first day) I want to look perfect in a way like being a Barbie if I have to put an example. Like I stop using my glasses.

It happens to me that I compare myself to other women a lot. Daily. But that's a topic that is too heavy to touch.

This is an universal experience, trust me.. A lot of people are more selfconscious and it's not the same as having "main character syndrome" it's rather about how you want to present yourself to people. It could be from an unsolved trauma but it doesn't mean you have to solve it now. Just live you're life to the fullest. 😊
