PTSD and Dating

I don’t understand how I can go between “men are evil and disgusting” and “I really wanna date”. Like… none of this makes sense. I’ve been abused. Countless times. At the hands of many men. And I’ve sworn off men, multiple times, to build up the 10-mile-high walls to protect myself from being lied to, and mistreated, and potentially injured by guys. And yet I want to be with one. How does this make sense?????

@jesusredeemedme2425 I protected myself through learning about healthy love, communication and on the other side the signs of unhealthy love, manipulation and toxic people. Also, I addressed childhood trauma. We managed to track back the entire snowball to basically lot of childhood patterns and minor, seemingly harmless family dynamic that snowballed. It helps spot the red flags early before you get entangled too deeply. If you want, I can give a quick rundown on the most important points to look out for. (Also, carry a frying pan to bonk the too daring ***)

@jesusredeemedme2425

 do you feel those particular men have made that response? Your emotions related to the incidences?

It can be confusing but it Sounds like you have some hope that there is a good man out there for you ❤️

From the perspective how I see things. It’s like you have a wish for “normality” as the wish to date or find the right one is a “normal” wish humans have.

have been abused by both - men and women. I try to see the individual not the gender or the “group of”. Sometimes I think superficial myself though, but I try to see the individual human being most of the time as good as I can.

So, having this wish and at the same time questioning yourself why you think or feel like this, is part of being a human yourself. We are sometimes an ambivalent species and that’s okay.

wish you the best for the future. 🍀

“”I hate you!! Please donʼt leave me”” is a common feeling for many ppl with a trauma history. We want connection but we will run from it & sabotage it out of fear.

This. I sabotage my relationships often because of this.

It shows your inner urge to meet the right man.... inspite of your experiences scaring you.

You have more faith than youre aware of.
