Some people have twisted priorities
Some people are so shocked when you tell them you are being financially supported by a family member, while they advise you to do adult work to survive and they think its all totally fine... Internalized envy to the max.

I had to second read and pondered what adult work mean for a moment - once I realized, oh my goodness. People are very two face. They will shame people for doing it and then go consume it. Other people knows it is not all fine. They just want to destroy your life. Good that you don't buy into it.
IDK where you from but in America, the dominant culture expected an adult to move out and be self-supporting. I'm in the middle ground. Even if you are self-supporting, why move out when you can help your parents/family with the bills. Everyone will benefits. And if you are financially being supported, it is not like that will be forever. As long as you're not just freeloading, doing nothing inside the home, and planning to keep doing that, there is nothing to be ashamed about it. It is good that you have family to help support you. Not everybody has that.
I hate this new culture of complete independence we have created here in America. I’ve got a little girl who were trying as hard as we can to save up for so that she can have a college fund. When people tell her “oh you’re going to be a doctor,” I ask them to stop and tell them she’s going to be whatever she wants to be. Then I’ll get some snide comments about don’t let her become a stay at home mom like you. No, she absolutely can become a stay at home mom if that’s what she wants or she can become a doctor. It’s her life. Then I’ll get a comment about well what are you doing to do when she’s a stay at home mom with three kids and her husband leaves her high and dry. I replied with, move her into our home because we’re her family.
Family helps family. There’s no shame in being financially support by a family member. Anyone who says differently is just cruel and jealous. Family values have been dying here in America. It’s nice to hear that some families are still behaving like families and being there for each other.
Keep your head up!
