Something important for today's time
Hello everyone
Recently I have come across a word that feel too distant small maybe but when you know the meaning of it. You start questioning a lot of things and that word is
Love Bombing
I mean that's something we all should be aware and it definitely concerns me
How in today's world a few minutes of affection affect us
So here I am actually trying to invite everyone to share something on their experience
On love bombing
How you can identify different between love bombing and actual love
And all your experience related to the topic
It will help many to understand when and how to find such Traits soon and also what boundaries they should have
@confidentVision4766 I think at the beginning it would be difficult to identify since we don't always know a person's true intention. When I was younger (teens/early early adult years), things were simple. Deep into the infatuation stage, young and nieve to think it was love. Some people's love language really is gift gifting and all that good stuff. That's ok. For me, red flags come when things go way overboard and that person wanted to consume my whole life. Not that they were "abusive" to me per se, just extra needy to where it was like a honeymoon Infatuation stage all the time. At my age, that isn't the "love" I desire or need. I need the raw, unconditional, until death do us part, constant decision to love even through all the BS... and that's what I like to think I have. A person will always show you the core of who they are. They will eventually show their underlying secret intentions. They do this without even knowing. It's important to keep eyes open and alert and only accept what you are comfortable with. Not everything that seems good is actually for your good. That's what I keep in mind. ♡☆
Hey @YourCaringConfidant
I agree with everything you say. It's really important to always see all the aspect in a person and also pay attention to places/things that are concerning.
There is a instinct in all of us, just sometimes we ignore that in the name of flaw or maybe they too emotionally invested
@confidentVision4766
This is a very important topic and thank you for sharing 💙
For me, it's important to trust your instincts.
Go with what feels natural.
Ask yourself, can the conversation run free, can I be honest, can I disagree, can I hold my own view points.
Or am I love bombed to rush me into doing something I'm not ready for?
Am I love bombed to change my mind?
To dismiss my feelings?
To distract?
Is the conversation a two way street?
Is it deep or just flowery and baseless?
Is it real or dry with no true substance?
I've seen cases of it here, when at times some listeners and members use it, to fast track connections, which I think we need to be very mindful of, because professional and respectful boundaries need to be maintained 🤗💙
Hey @Amanda84
This questions are really helpful.
Also I learn something from your questions that in life while having boundaries you should also have a skill called
Self introspection/
Or you can say assessment
Because sometimes our boundaries get blurred due to many reasons but constant assessment of your self, values and may things
Can always keep you sane and in control
Preventing alot of things to happen in the early stage of life.
So, it is as simple as to just NOT THINKING EVERYTHING IS A PLOT AGAINST YOU, jesus, some people just tend to give lots of affection, and if they're truly lovebombing to carry out some evil ahh plan, damn, it's not even so concerning if you just learn this pattern:
Compliment -> Nothing = Ok
Compliment -> "Hey can i ask you something?" = Suspect
@SaviSSS
Thanks for writing back
Thats a brilliant one
But can you explain your pattern in a bit detail??
If you're truly being lovebombed, it's because they want to manipulate you via that lovebombing to get something out of you, it could be anything as innocent and as gross as you can imagine, but anything it is, it has that subtle interest in common of wanting "true" "reciprocate" feelings and compromise (basically building trust really really fast) for you to make things blinded in that "omg they are really wanting me so i gotta do as they say to not screw things up", it's easy to detect because they'll just ask you stuff or ask you to do stuff right after giving you the usual overload of compliments and *** couple quotes, a people that just gives lots of affection naturally doesn't do that.
Hi dear I'm Bassey, concerning your question this is what I understand about love and love bombing.
Understanding the difference between love bombing and genuine love can be tricky because, at the very beginning, they can look remarkably similar. Both involve high levels of affection, attention, and excitement.
However, the primary difference lies in intent, pace, and consistency.
1. Love Bombing: The "Sprint"
Love bombing is a psychological and emotional manipulation tactic used to quickly gain influence over someone or to make them feel dependent.
Excessive Pacing: It feels like a whirlwind. They may declare "soulmate" status or talk about marriage and moving in together within days or weeks.
Overwhelming Attention: Constant texting, calling, and a demand for your time. If you don't respond quickly, they may become anxious or subtly guilt-trip you.
Grand Gestures: Expensive gifts, lavish trips, or over-the-top compliments that feel "too much" for how long you’ve actually known each other.
The Hidden Goal: It is often the first stage of a cycle of abuse. Once the "target" is hooked, the love bomber typically switches to devaluation or withdrawal to maintain control.
Boundary Ignoring: They may push past your boundaries (e.g., showing up unannounced) under the guise of "just needing to see you."
2. Real Love: The "Marathon"
Real love is a slow-building process based on mutual respect, shared values, and seeing a person for who they actually are—flaws and all.
Healthy Pacing: It develops over time. There is a "getting to know you" phase where trust is earned, not assumed.
Respect for Boundaries: A partner in a healthy relationship understands that you have a life, friends, and career outside of them. They encourage your independence.
Consistency: It isn’t a roller coaster of highs and lows. It is a steady, reliable presence. You don't have to wonder which "version" of the person you’re going to get today.
Accountability: In real love, people apologize and change their behavior when they’re wrong. Love bombers often use "love" as an excuse to avoid accountability.
Acceptance: Real love sees your imperfections and stays. Love bombing relies on an idealized, "perfect" version of you that isn't sustainable.
