Struggling with emotions
I recently had a lot to deal with and I pushed through. I am continuing trying to be positive and move forward but I am honestly struggling. I feel a bit depressed the last days and I hurt emotionnally. I am trying to rest and distract myself but it doesn't seem to pass. How do you learn patience with emotionnal distress?

🌙💗 Hey tender soul 💗🌙
First, I just want to say — it’s okay to be where you are right now. You’ve been pushing through, showing up, doing your best… and even though that strength is beautiful, it’s also exhausting. It’s completely natural to feel that emotional ache catch up with you once the rush of “getting through it” settles down. 🌧️
Learning patience with emotional distress is a gentle art — one that takes time and a lot of self-compassion. Here are a few heart-soft ways to start practicing it:
🌿 1. Let the waves move through you, not against you.
Sometimes we try to force feelings away, but emotions are like tides — they rise, crest, and fall when allowed to move naturally. Patience often begins with permission: “It’s okay that I feel this right now.”
🌸 2. Shift from “fixing” to “holding.”
You don’t have to solve sadness to sit with it. Try seeing it like a hurting friend — one you don’t rush, but simply stay beside. Sometimes patience is about allowing yourself to coexist with pain instead of fighting it.
🕯️ 3. Ground yourself in small comforts.
Gentle music, warm tea, a shower, a walk outside — they don’t erase the pain, but they remind your body that safety still exists. Patience grows when you reconnect with small anchors of peace.
đź’«Â 4. Speak softly to yourself.
You wouldn’t tell a friend to “get over it,” so try not to say that to your own heart either. Speak kindly to the parts of you that are hurting; they’re just asking to be seen.
It’s okay that it hasn’t passed yet. Healing is slow, but it’s still happening, even on the days you can’t feel it. You’re learning endurance — the quiet, soulful kind that makes you gentler and stronger at once. 🌼
Be proud of yourself for still trying, for still caring, for still showing up through the ache. That’s not small — that’s bravery. 💛
With care and calm light,
