TMHA Week: Collaborative Mental Wellness Mural
Hello everyone! 👋
Since it's May – Teen Mental Health Awareness Month – we are trying to do something to show we are all in this together and to highlight how important our minds are. I am super excited about the activity: Collaborative Mental Wellness Mural 🎉
Think of it like this: it is a shared canvas just for us to show what feeling mentally well *really* means to each of us. There's no right or wrong way to do it; it is all about you sharing your vibe and connecting with everyone else creatively.
Imagine this activity as our collective voice, like a beautiful, colorful quilt comprising all our thoughts and feelings about mental health. Whether it is that peaceful feeling inside, something that makes you strong, a symbol of hope, or just a few words that lift you, we want to see it and hear it from you.
So here is how you can participate:
Get arty 🎨: Take a pencil and paper to let your creativity flow. Draw shapes that bring you peace, patterns that feel grounding, characters that represent resilience, abstract designs that capture your inner world – whatever visually speaks to your understanding of mental wellness. Don't forget to try colors, if you can.
Use text to share 💬: Share words that uplift you, short phrases that resonate with your journey, affirmations you hold onto, inspiring quotes you love, or even single letters that carry significance for your mental well-being.
Use images/ stickers 🖼️: Do you have a picture on your phone or a sticker/ gif that shows what mental wellness means to you? Share it with us.
For me personally, I think feeling mentally well is kind of like having a little garden 🌸 inside you. It needs looking after, some care, and lots of different things to help it grow. Sometimes it is about finding those quiet moments of peace (maybe a soft blue circle?), sometimes it is about being strong when things get tough (like a vine that just keeps winding and growing?), and sometimes it is all about connecting (like lines and shapes all coming together?). I can't wait to see how all our different ways of showing this come together into something really beautiful, and that means a lot to us all.
This is a safe space for us to share, connect, and remember that none of us is going through this alone. What you think, what you have experienced, and how you see mental wellness all matter – a lot.
So, let's try this activity together and share what you can.

This sounds like a cool activity! Boosting :)
@ASilentObserver Your garden analogy is quite a good one. I think of mental well being as rather how one would take care of a child- as with nourishment and safety, we also require comfort and kindness. I think we hold our previous selfs inside us- 7 year old, 14 years old, 21 years old and so on. We're children in awe of the world, teenagers fearing it, and adults facing it.
Mostly, i think we're very complex
A quote that I hold on to, when things get rough (as they often do):
"I suppose I love this life, in spite of my clenched fist." - Andrea Gibson
@ASilentObserver I think of mental health like a rainbow, 🌈 feeling all different emotions, sometimes all at once, each linked, each important, each part of the same pattern, each needing the other one, each with a purpose, mental health brings different challenges, both good and bad but it's all part of our whole being 🥰💜🌈
