Update, + feel sad and alone
Me and my mom have made up. I still feel it still tho becus i have been traumatized, speaking with her now i realized we had miscommunications however the insults and physical stuff and rejection when i needed help did a number. We spoke somethings off i tell her abt her anger she hesitates. Idk if shell change im scared she wont. I dont want to lose a relationship with her nor do i think she with me but man. I cant be the only one dealing with this. She did some research a bit what to do with ur kid after traumatizing them but i feel like shes missing the point. I guess for now working on safety signs and holding her accountable i suppose and lookin for a change is what might help. I rlly want her relationship with anger to change but idk how much that will be possible. I still feel horrible its day 2 afterwards or day 3 i hope im not alone in this.
Im afraid she cant commit. She has expressed shell try but rn im kinda freaking out and shes rushing and not rlly helping and goin back to the same things …
Ok so i guess its a back and forth maybe it wont be perfect, for ppl who do have a ma or whoever who do want a good relationship but struggle like this how did yall do it?
Facing something like that especially from someone so close — really does a number on you. That kind of blow hits different. Growing up around explosive anger can make you live on your tiptoes, so I can imagine a bit of what you mean.
one thing i assure you is You’re not alone in this. And her anger or behaviour isn’t on you.
If she’s trying to reconcile, it’s okay to let that process unfold slowly… but be there for yourself too. Keep yourself safe and protected while you figure things out.
Go slow. You don’t have to emotionally “forgive” just because you’ve made up. Trust rebuilds in patterns, not promises.
Most Important, Watch actions, not words. Real change shows in consistency — especially around anger. Set small boundaries first — like stepping away if conversations get heated. You’re allowed to protect your peace. Also good to have some sort of safety signals/exit plans — even simple ones like leaving the room, calling a friend, or putting physical space if things escalate.
And Again i am repeating— none of what happened is on you. You deserved safety growing up.
You’re not alone in this. Sending you strength 🤍
@yellowBike7258 thank you, i had my own hurts that i did during the conflict with her, but still its tuff when its w/ a person who has expressed wanting to help and someone youre used to telling everything, but has this wall too that you feel like if that wall could break, alot of good n trust would happen. But anyways, thank you ! 💗
I've come to the point that I limit my interactions to the bare minimum with my father bc of this anger problem of his... I saw he never committed to going to any therapy or social-worker session. I just stopped...I just left the contact of the counselor there at the door and said to him, you want this family to work you must go there...until he doesn't, I just keep reminding myself to keep my distance even if he tries to make me feel sorry with words but no meaningful actions and strangely enough I get treated better than other family members bc he has no confidence with me like before.
Same problem but with my dad. We barely talk probably see each other like once a year. Sometimes its better to let people go, hopefully you and your mom work it out.
It got worse. Im not sure sharing it publicly will help. Im deff gonna go crisis respote or to mas fam back …
I want to share, im not sure abt the limits tho. Just shocked aswell and hurt snd scared a bit by everything , i dont want to hold everythings in and carry it all alone while its making me feel worse but i also dont know the limits here.
Just hurt. And confused and afraid of judgement.
