Vent about nothing is enjoyable (CPTSD)

Why is nothing fun for so long? Like people post memes, jokes and stuff, everyone laughs, and im here like: What? I don't get it. I very likely have CPTSD, so maybe it's from that? I've been trying to survive for too long like being judged and much more and I couldn't have fun at all. I had to do what I was told otherwise it would be bad. All I do is rant, because nothing else makes sence. I wish there was a way out. Im also really energyless. I'll go to psychologist in like 2 months and I just can't wait. Anyone here with CPTSD too? Or someone who doesn't see fun in anything?

@scarletSpring8060 I do in fact have CPTSD. (Although sometimes I have a bad habit of saying the acronym without the "C" in it, including my bio.)

I do find that sometimes it's hard for me to enjoy things as someone typically would, but I find that I tend to be the happier type regardless, so I do have that sense of normalcy, but I think I've noticed that it can change depending on how I feel some days.

It manifests for me in the form of having trust issues, excessive doubt, or sometimes feeling rather irritable, perhaps cynical if I'm trying to express an opinion or some information I have on my mind that wasn't being fully listened to actively. Although I happen to deal with CPTSD in a different way, as my symptoms have been managed in the long term (whereas I used to actually feel more similarly to you in this case), it's either gotten a lot more milder in recent times, or I've actually found something that could ease the symptoms.

Sometimes a support group/supportive friend(s) can actually make a huge difference, as talking can help clear some issues, but not all of them. Unfortunately if you did try having a conversation with a professional on this, they might potentailly (not as a guarantee but as a precaution), they could recommend medications to help "absolve" what you're dealing with, I'd personally remain cautious before they ever try to do that, as when I experienced someone trying to prescribe an Rx (Rx = Prescription), I did my thorough research into it before declining since it wouldn't do me much good, or sometimes I'd try to locate an explanation through a psychology book I have somewhere to see if there's at least something that could give me an idea of what I'm dealing with, and what could ACTUALLY solve it without taking a toll on my health.

That or I'm paranoid. Regardless, you're most definitely not alone in this. 😊
