Hello everyone, I hope everyone is having a good week.

A couple of weeks ago we discussed- 5 Simple Strategies to Navigate and Manage Guilt If you haven't checked yet, please click here to add your thoughts.

This week's prompt is: Think about a time when you felt sad or overwhelmed. What caused those feelings to arise? Was it a loss, disappointment, or an unexpected change?

Take a moment to reflect on a time when you felt sad or overwhelmed and what contributed to it. Remember, managing your emotions is an ongoing journey, and it's okay to seek support and guidance along the way. Please share and discuss here among us.

@ASilentObserver definetly a unexpected change. I was rescued them bought to the real world a few years ago. I didn't know, this world exsisted, I didn't realise there was so many people, so many animals, technology. Hospitals schools. Zoo's the ocean. I had no idea any of this exsisted. There last few years I've basically been trying to learn all about and how to live in the real world. So yeah! The past few years have all been very overwhelming. But this year, I think I'm more calmer, I think I've learned all the basics and more. I'm doing well 😁

@Tinywhisper11 It sounds like experiencing so much newness all at once after being rescued was really overwhelming at times. I'm glad to hear you feel like you've learned the basics now and are doing well. It's amazing how far you've come in adapting to this new life.

I almost always feel sad, but when I read "we're here for you, and we care about you, " or someone says it to me I feel overjoyed for the time being. But I know that those words and these happy feelings are far and few between. And that feeling is gone fast. And once it leaves I'm no longer just "sad" it's worse than that I feel more depressed.

In my house hold with my family you're not allowed to cry. Unless it's a funeral or something truly sad happens for the family, you can't cry.

I usually don't cry even in those times, because I'm so scared that if I start I'll never stop.

So when these depressed feelings come up I just have what I call a "breakdown." Where I don't cry, I just sit with my knees pulled up to my chest, my hands in my hair, and I just shake. It's uncontrollable, and it hurts so bad because everything is telling me to just cry, get it all out, but there's a small part of my brain that says think about the consequences.So I don't cry, I just calm down little by little until I'm less "fragile." Those feelings can last

for days or weeks, but once it's over I'm back to my sad normal.

Whoever reads this, thank you for your time.

@ASilentObserver

Usually I can't do anything. I just sleep whenever I can, but sometimes I write stuff.

@ASilentObserver

Normally i write stories or poems about how I feel, or about death. The stuff I write isn't really happy though.

Well. It acts like a predatorial beast, attacking when I expect it the least. Some 'insignificant' signs may be found, but sometimes I confuse in with overthinking. Some physical and stress issues may join the feast upon my mind.
