What does always help you feel better?
Hi, this is my first ever time posting something on here.
But I've been searching for more ways to make myself feel better when I have my downs and would love to hear what other people do when they're down and try to increase their mood.
So, what are your (un)conventional ways to increase your mood when you're feeling down? I'd love to hear what works for you specifically and haven't seen it on other people.
@gregariousPomegranate3096 hi💖 watching the sunrise and listening to the birds wake up is my favourite mood booster, also a relaxing evening with candles pretty fairy lights a hot drink and some relaxing music😁 I do that every evening😁 and drawing, drawing makes me happy 😁💖

Thank you for asking 🥰 I hope you have a wonderful time here 🍀 Sending loads of love your way 🐾💕

That sounds amazing!

" Lauren Ostrowski — It's okay, Guided sleep meditation 🤍 " :)
There r two versions, one with music and voice and one without music. ( I prefer without music, you can listen to their meditations on loop on y.t )
Any of their meditations are great, and very comforting to me personally <33
Thank you so much for your recommendation🫶🏻

This is a nice topic to discuss!
For me, it's joining family and friends for board games. Finding little cozy and cute game that I can play on my phone (rather than browsing social media). It's always a blessing to find really engaging TV shows and books. An evening walk to mailbox is always effective in shifting the mood. And what never fails is a hot shower! Once the body is relaxed, so is the mood.
And last but not the least, reaching out on here :)
@gregariousPomegranate3096 since I can't paint my walls of my room, I buy different types of floral wrapping paper and put it up as wallpaper. Bought 2 new rolls yesterday and its given the wall that didn't have any yet a whole new look. The fact that it matches what I have hanging on the wall is even better. Having the walls in my bedroom different personalities makes it feel like a cottage
@amusingWest5360 its also less expensive 🤷♀️ who knew

Changing your daily routine changes your mood.
For example: Think outside the box in your daily life; learn and practice growing some flowers. Learn and practice raising pets.
Food has always been my comfort. It's not the best to turn to it every time you need soothing obviously, I developed horrible binge eating disorder for over five years because of it so you definitely need to be mindful. But for me it's the only thing that reliably helps me feel better basically every time.

I'm feeling great today, so I'll just make a list off the top of my head
Put on my favorite dance music and try to move a little
Watch a funny comfort show (usually Trailer Park Boys)
Along the same lines, watch a comfort movie (Star Wars or LOTR)
Work on a blanket I'm knitting and watch my progress (that part makes me happy)
Take a walk through the woods and pay attention to my senses instead of my thoughts
Playing with stickers, markers, and stamps
Spa night with a nice long, relaxing shower
Spray my pillow and bed linens with a lavender oil spray before a nap or bed
If the sun is out and weather is nice, a nice sun nap is always comforting.
and gosh, how can I forget coming to Cups and checking in with members and listener friends :)
