What’s a kind act someone has done for you that you’ll never forget?
A lil girl asked me what I was doing on my phone so she could play game. (She was a random girl on a bus stop!)
@WolfMeta
cute! did you let her play?
@WolfMeta
What game?
@WolfMeta probably lifting up the windows on my bus
One time..I had an evening shift that finished at 8:30pm. We were dropped off by office vans. Unfortunately my can had a very entitled nasty girl who insisted on getting dropped off first before everyone even though she lived the farthest because, quote "my father is strict and doesn't like me coming home late". So despite me being the first dropoff on the route I had to wait till the driver made an entire round dropping off everyone else before he dropped me off. Which was at 10:30pm, sometimes 11. So my Mom usually stays awake to let me in because that was a road with an army camp and she was scared to leave the gate unlatched.
So this one day she fell deeply asleep while waiting. Her room was on the far end of the house. Noone else was home. I was dropped off really late that day, around 11:30pm, because the vehicle was slow as it was raining. I couldn't call because my phone had died while waiting to be dropped off. I tried tapping and calling Noone answered.
I was banging on the door and ringing the bell (we found the bell had stopped working later) and noone came. It was close to midnight and I was basically just banging and shouting till I was hoarse outside and my mother didn't hear. It was terrifying. The roads were empty... completely. All sorts of thoughts were going in my head. I was scared if something had happened to my elderly Mom while I wasn't there. I was scared what lay behind the closed door. The only lights I could see were from the army camp in the distance.
At this time one of the young soldiers jogged by for some midnight exercise, and passed by me. I scrounged up the courage to ask him if he could lend me his phone because my phone had died and my family was asleep, while I couldn't get into my home. He was very nice and lent it. And at last I got through via a phonecall on his phone, and my Mom came to open the door. I was so grateful and thanked him profusely. He just laughed it off casually and left. I never saw him again. I'm bad with faces and now, years later, I can't even remember his face. But I do remember his kind smile and friendly demeanor helping a person in need.
@WolfMeta I was traveling in UK and lost my wallet. I was crying not knowing what to do. A woman asked me why I was crying. When I told her she gave me 5 pounds so I could manage to reach back to where I was staying.
I thought it was a very kind act.
Childhood is a powerful time. Kids are so in tune with living each moment fully.
