@genericbeing
I pick g here is why: 🥰🥰🔥🔥😎😎
From a military–economic geography perspective, Point G is the island’s decisive strategic node.
Now the reasoning 👇
1/ Maritime chokepoint logic
G sits on a projecting headland facing the primary eastern approaches (sunrise side).
This gives it first-contact advantage over:
-
Trade vessels
-
Naval forces
-
Migration and supply routes
Historically, this is where customs houses, forts, and naval stations emerge.
2/ Force economy & defense
G minimizes defensive costs:
-
Water on multiple sides
-
Reduced landward attack vectors
-
Likely elevation for radar/artillery/observation
Classic Cold War logic: maximum control with minimum troops.
3/ Economic leverage > raw production
E and B may produce food/resources.
G controls movement.
Control movement → control taxation, tariffs, blockades, and access.
Empires don’t grow rich by farming alone — they grow rich by regulating flow.
4/ Strategic depth & shielding
G functions as a forward shield:
-
Threats are intercepted before reaching the interior
-
Interior zones gain time to mobilize
-
Loss of G = exposed coastline + reactive defense posture
This mirrors real-world coastal defense doctrine.
5/ Comparative weakness of alternatives
-
C: Open coast, high exposure, poor survivability
-
A: Sheltered but blockadable
-
D: Excellent surveillance, weak naval control
-
E: Administrative/logistical center, not decisive alone
Capitals often sit inland. Power doesn’t.
Final assessment:
G is not where culture thrives — it’s where power is enforced.
If this island enters a conflict or trade competition,
the side holding G sets the terms.
📍 Strategic choice: G
Counterarguments welcome — maps, terrain, and supply lines only.
Thank you. Your detailed analysis is very eye-opening and I can see you have quite a lot of knowledge regarding geographical strategies. But even though you live near the trade vessels I though someone would already have claimed it (likely the ruler or government etc) so are you really controlling it? Take it with my 2 cents
@calmingcomfortero thanks lots of hugs 🥰
keep the change🤣🤣🤧🤧🤣🤣
@genericbeing I like control, so g is for me 😁
Here are the details for others, which will make the pick easy for you🥰🥰
A — Sheltered Western Bay
Pros
-
Natural harbor
-
Calm waters for logistics
-
Easy early settlement
Cons
-
Easily blockaded
-
Limited outward control
-
Strategically passive
B — Inland Lowlands
Pros
-
Protected from naval attack
-
Close to freshwater (lake)
-
Stable population center
Cons
-
No sea control
-
Dependent on others for trade access
-
Militarily reactive
C — Open Eastern Coast
Pros
-
Direct access to the sea
-
Potential commercial port
Cons
-
Highly exposed
-
Difficult to defend
-
First target in conflict
D — Northern High Ground
Pros
-
Island-wide visibility
-
Strong early-warning position
-
Hard to assault
Cons
-
Poor logistics
-
Limited naval influence
-
Not an economic hub
E — Central Basin
Pros
-
Agricultural and administrative core
-
Strong internal connectivity
-
Logistical efficiency
Cons
-
Landlocked
-
Vulnerable if coasts fall
-
No strategic deterrence
F — Southern Tip
Pros
-
Controls a narrow sea route
-
Good for monitoring traffic
Cons
-
Isolated
-
Supply vulnerability
-
Low strategic depth
H — Western Headland
Pros
-
Good lookout over western approaches
-
Defensible terrain
Cons
-
Less trade traffic than the East
-
Secondary strategic value
-
Overshadowed by G
Bottom line
-
E feeds the island
-
D watches the island
-
G controls the island
@burningspiritual1only
Ideally I will choose E because it's the central so likely there's a more developed infrastructure. Also, the sunset's glare is blocked off by C so I can rest peacefully in the evening
@calmingcomfortero an excelent choice for peaceful and economically rich land🥰
D for sure
@calmwinterbreeze gonna instal watch towers there🥰
E or B
@braveWords2568 you can transition between both. They are basically connected through common lake🥰
B for sure. Good source of water, sunlight for crops, probably a cave to make camp in, quick access to the entire lower side of the island, and the easy enough to defend in the case of an attack. Also, good for enterprise. If A, H, C, or F want to cross the island and not trek all the way around E’s territory they can barter with whatever resources I’m in need of to be able to cross my land.
@Hedgehogs83 I'll trade you a squirrel for passage

@genericbeing Deal! You may pass
@genericbeing in the middle ;)
I would like to be on E..
@genericbeing
I am at E 😊
