opinion?
I find it hard to trust people when someone is overly sweet, I start doubting their intentions even more. Can anyone else relate to this? My biggest mistake in life i consider is when i used to trust people.

Trust is earned not just given IMO...
Too many have been burned by giving trust to people who did NOT earn it and are not trustworthy. You may think it was a mistake giving trust but it was a lesson so you guard your trust more.

I doubt anyone has not been betrayed by misgiving trust.... you are NOT alone.
Sometimes when we feel we have no one else we have let someone in that was not worthy.
Believe me trust is fragile and can be broken even after years of it being good. The #1 person to trust is yourself any off feeling towards someone may signal to not open up fully to them. It takes practice in life to spot those whom you can trust and betrayal is the risk......

Honesty is key, if something doesn't feel right , ask questions they'll answer if they are genuine 💜💕

I would say trust is an invisible thread that holds everything together. Sometimes we welcome sweet gesture from others. I think when someone is sweet too much, our mind tries to whisper sometimes -what is the catch there? The trust allows emotional risks and also builds it. It is always very hard to get it so, we value that so much, I think. I think there is that vulnerability about taking risk and reaching out to new connections. That might turn into a trusted connection. :)

It may be tough to trust again. But with small steps at a time, it would be possible slowly, I hope.
