Healing asks us to learn to ‘sit with it’.

➡️This is about brining a compassionate gaze over our experiences.

This includes.

📌Releasing judgment.
📌Welcoming emotions.
📌Not trying to minimize of reduce our experience.
📌Not soothing through unhealthy coping or avoidance strategies.
📌Connecting sensations, emotions and thoughts about the experience.
📌Understanding origin wounds or narratives that may be amplifying our experience.
📌Validating our own feelings
📌Setting boundaries with shame-based internal chatter
📌Becoming aware that the way we see others and the world in these moments is altered
📌Not making rash decisions or acting from this altered place.

👉Our ability to sit with it comes with practice.
It’s about building capacity.
Developing a kind loving internal witness and space holder.
Containing our distress, rather than moving from it.

👉Our ability to sit with it helps us end collective trauma cycles. Instead of leaking it or throwing our unprocessed pain into the world or turning it back on ourselves, we finally begin to metabolize it. To heal.

❓What do you think?

@Remina the problem is I try not to think, sittting with it for me normally leads into lots of crying and overthinking things. It can help though sometimes to help process what really matters💖 thanks for all the information💖

The more I try to think about them and the deeper I go it makes me feel worst about myself... I'm trying to spend that energy into doing something for others It makes me feel less guilty idk how to feel about this rn, I think I can only try to do better, I just want to re-start my thinking by closing old journals and making fresh ones... for now I'm still healing...

@fossilfellow

That's okay. I am a strong believer that everything is at your pace. You know what is best for you. If sitting with it is too much, you can put it away for the moment and come back to it when you're ready to deal with that feeling or thought. 💜
