How do I stop myself from being scared of height?

It's getting more ridiculous because, lately, I'm not even brave enough to step onto an escalator that's for going down.  I have this anxious feeling of, what if I fall, lose my balance?

There's one scary experience for me. The escalator that I was on suddenly stopped moving 😢I nearly fell. It's since that day my fear of height becomes real

Is there a way to stop this anxious feeling every time I need to use an escalator (that's for going down)?

Hi there. This is something I’ve started experiencing lately too. Whenever I’m on an escalator going up, I sometimes feel like I’m going to fall backward. The last time I was on a suspended flight of stairs, I could actually feel myself experiencing vertigo. It’s never a good feeling, and I can completely relate to what you’re going through. I’m sorry about the incident that led to this.

What helps me is trying to face my fears and having someone by my side to make sure I don’t panic in those situations. The more I push myself to be brave and face those fears, the better I seem to get at managing and countering them.

I hope you feel better and I send you heaps of positive vibes.

@trueconfidant123 hi there,

I see we've experienced something similar with escalator🥲. It's such an upleasant feeling, I start to avoid escalator 😞I prefer to use normal stairs but they're not always available. Anxiety sucks, vertigo also sucks. I hope by the time goes by, I'll be able to fix this, thank you a lot for your kind messages 💕

If you prefer to take the steps rather than the escalator, you will get more exercise than most!!

I heard that there is a place in the middle of Africa (probably Zambia) with an escalator, which is considered a major attraction there.

There are also some videos of dogs who obviously feel the same way you do, so no matter their sizes, they end up being carried up or down the escalators.

How do you feel about flying or going up a ladder? Maybe you got some problems with that as well?

@Fradiga that's an interesting fact, thanks for sharing it with me. I don't have trouble when going up, I'm fine with it. But since gojng down involved looking down, that's why I'm worried..

Then, if there is someone going down as well and staying on their step, you might just place yourself just behind them, as a preventive measure.
