New and lost
I don't know if Im posting in the right place, I dont really know why I'm here, I've tried therapy that didn't seem to help any , a friend recommended here but I'm not sure how this will help, but at this point in time I'm so desperate to get back on some kind of balance I'll try anything. I'm 46, live on my own and have lost all sense of purpose and can't see any point to my life.

Welcome! It sounds like you're going through a really tough time right now. Feeling lost and without purpose can be a very difficult and overwhelming experience. We’re here for you!💜
Hi, Reliable. Your post resonated with me. I am also 46 and struggling with the same issues. I have been a member here for a few years. When I was in my 20s, I had an overactive thyroid and didn't know it. This has led to all the health issues I have today- panic, anxiety, high blood pressure, and others. I almost died, and this started my issues with sleep/insomnia, panic attacks, fear I was dying. I started to stay up all night because I was afraid. Its a horrible time to be anxious and alone... because everyone else is sleeping. I started to get on chatrooms for anxiety. There was someone on, no matter what time it was...struggling with the same issues and just to not feel alone. My health eventually leveled out for a bit, and I didn't need the chat rooms...until a few years ago, when my life had gone from bad to worse, and I was just drowning. Trying to save myself. I ended up in an abusive relationship and started to self destruct. I was anxious all the time (like now) and felt it would honestly be the death of me unless I did something. I joined here, and it helped, as well as ending the relationship. The spiral of losing people close to me got worse, and apparently triggered... I guess trauma responses. My mental health is severely struggling the worst its ever been. So here I am again. Looking for a ray of light or hope, to see me through this. So maybe that's why I happened to stumble on your post, and felt compelled to respond. I hope this finds you well, and if you'd like to talk, I'm here.
Much love
