@energeticHickory5371 I'm so sorry about your loss😥 loosing a pet is like looking a family member. I guess you grieve the same way as you would for any other loved one. I find the first thing to do is to get rid of all his/her belongings, food, toys, bedding just throw it all out. Gives you a giant tiny hug ❤❤ squeezes you tightly ❤ I'm so sorry sweetie

All I can say is it will get easier as time goes by I lost my Staffie 🐶 Winston in April and there’s not a day goes by that I don’t think of him but the first few days and weeks are the toughest after a loss, our pets mean so much to us and I understand as I’ve always felt closer to animals than people, I’m so sorry for your loss and trust me it will get easier to deal with you’ve just got to allow yourself some time to grieve. ♥️

Well I lost my dog about a year ago. It was a miniature pinture. It was very old, missing one leg, and had been given to us. She was really sweet though. Well to not traumatize you all with the gory details, she was killed by two pitbulls. In front of us. It was very traumatic and it made us really depressed. We ended up getting a new dog which was the same breed but a pup and I resented her at first. I felt like they were just trying to replace her. It took me a long time to cope and I still get anxious when I see a pit bull. I suppose my new dog helped ease the pain a lot.

You may have known them for a chapter in your life but to them, you were their entire life. You’ve given them all the love they deserve and more. Carry them in your heart and try think more on how happy you made them in the duration of their (sadly) small years in life. Learned this in a doggy daycare I work at, once an owners pet passed away, they focused more on celebrating their dogs life and spreading joy and stories of their pet. Take the time you need to grieve, grieving is unexpressed love.
