What's holding you back from living your dream?
I was talking to my lovely manager lately, and I was telling him something along the lines of, "I wasn't meant for this traditional path of school, work, no sleep, etc." He simply asked, "What's holding you back?" And it got me thinking: what is holding me back?
To put it simply, perhaps my depression. Probably the feeling that I have to be put into a box and be a certain way.
So, lovelies, what's holding you back?
Fear - I'm a writer but what if I'm not good enough to be a real writer, a published author. Beneath that, what if I am? There's a comfort in staying in the dark where no one can see you, but the need for light, for breaking free, living a life that's true for me, is burning harder. So I'm writing and I urge anyone who has a dream, no matter what it is, how far away it seems, just do it, take the leap.

I'm a writer too, the only person that will make you fail, is yourself. Remember that.
@PhoebeGreeenwood Thank you. I really do appreciate that, seeing it in black and white that way. It's something I intend to remember, I don't want to waste any more of my time, or myself. Again, very much appreciated. I wish you continued success and happiness. Janet
I love singing, I really do, but it's just not something cut out for this world and not in where I come from. I'd still continue singing as a hobby though.
@Milktoast Singers worldwide would disagree! None of the successful singers today would have gotten to where they are if they believed therewas no future in it. Singing is a way to express joy, pain, and hope. If you want to share your singing with others, do it. Even if it remains a hobby, do it.
