finding comfort in depressive scenarios

i'll get straight to the point. i stay at home 24*7, dont talk to friends much, go outside once in a month (pretty *** i know) hence i picked up a habit of daydreaming.
now the thing is initially i found comfort through daydreaming no matter what the irl situation, but now i daydream about my family's death and how sad ill be and how ill be left alone because of that blahblah and... it gives me comfort. i found it so sad and comforting at the same time idk how to stop im afraid how intensely i daydream about this i might as well manifest it
please help, if someone can. idk what to make out of it or how to stop it or what does it even mean.

@idkkkkkk69

I think when we fall into many daydreams good or bad and we are not active in life it is not good. Almost every depressive episode I have had started in a similar way.

I find a way to push myself to get out to focus on other positive or realistic themes if I find myself daydreaming.

@toughTiger6481 i know right. i too am trying to do better. it's just the fact how i have started to find comfort in the most bizarre things possible is concerning. hopefully i will be doing better in 2026 though

@idkkkkkk69 This sounds similar or could be maladaptive daydreaming. I spent years doing it and still do, I'll imagine myself in scenarios and create whole new realities with my mind. Good old mindfulness helps sometimes.

@AshleighLiza yea it is maladaptive atp but my main point of concern is how badly i want my close ones to die in my daydreams as it gives me so much comfort, because it shouldnt
