Hi! ^_^

I was wondering if anyone else 'suffers' with Maladaptive daydreaming disorder.

Iused tosuffer, now I really just use it as a tool to keep me from going insanelybored in this place we call real life.wink

I wanted to know, does anyone emotional react externally to things happening in theirdaydreams too? I've cried, yelled, and laughed before. XD

Also, has anyone ever got *caught* doing it? If so, how did the other person react ?

Andddd lastly, for those who think I'm bonkers, here's a popular internet star to describe how he goes through it. :p

Hi,

please i need an advice. I daydream all the time. And i do it every day. But most of the time, when i daydream i just dont sit and have all of that in my mind. I play it. When Im alone in my room, I talk to people and I move like i was in that situation. I know it's not real, but it makes me feel good for a moment. I do it for like 10 years now. But i found out about MDD like 2 weeks ago. Do you think i have MDD or that I am just crazy?

P.S.: sorry for my English. I'm not from English speaking country.

@hfuzerv Hi! You're not crazy. And about the MDD, that's a common sign of it, I do it too sometimes, you're not alone :) But the one person that can help you the most is a professional. If you're struggling, please consider reaching out and asking for help.

Take care!

Ive always been an excessive daydreamer but I thought that I had a special ability or something. My teachers would always write down on my progress report that he daydreams too much and needs to focus more. I always found it hard to focus even though I have a bunch of thing that I want to acomplish. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but im also a huge procrastinator and its really messed me up with school. I dont also if anybody has ever done this but for me I tried to stop daydreaming for a good 2 hours, But once I broke that my head was throbbing(it was a good throbbing whatever that means) and my daydreams became way more detailed and imaginative. If anybody has ever felt this that would help but also what should I do in these situations when im about to daydream?

I constantly find myself daydreaming or imagining myself as characters from movies or shows.

@azureNorth3039 Same here but its a famous rapper or just any type of celebrity. Im taking steps right now to change that but it involves living through my senses(living in the moment)and its no easy task. Im having alot of problems as well but I think this would help you also just have to be persistent.

Hey. I googled a forum for maladaptive daydreaming because totally lost. I've not only excessively fantasized since i was a kid but i've actually acted out fantasies as they were happening (facial expressions, hand and body movements, talking etc) ,but all the while im aware of everything. Its so embarrassing and im losing hope on trying to manage this condition. I just needed to hear that other people know what im going through and that im not a freak

I'm always daydreaming and I need help controlling it. My daydreaming always seems to get me in trouble because I get out of tune with everything around me. I don't know to control it and I need help. How do I get help?

Hi! Not sure where to start really! My daydreaming has got more and more time consuming in the last few months. I can carry on dreaming while I'm at work, talking to other people etc! I have no idea how I don't make mistakes! I love my life in my dreams, I 99% dream about being in love. What I don't get is that my life isn't terrible and people do love me!? But I love the daydreaming so much I can't wait to be alone to carry it on, especially at night! I love how I can change anything I want, I can rewind and play the same scenario over and over! I'm so attached to certain people in the dreams that I feel real emotions toward them and can start crying etc in the middle of it! The people are real people who exist, but not people that I know. They are not celebrities either, I have no interest in that. It drives me mad at times and I feel it's a shame I have to do it, but there's no way I want to stop I'd miss it!! Thanks for reading !! :)

hello.

i've recently read about MDD and i guess i became a little paranoid over it, as i can't stop thinking that i might be insane. scrolling through your posts helped me a lot and it is a relief that i am not the only one who wanders around the house gesturing and talking to an imaginary world. still, i want to get over this and it's not turning out as easy as i thought it should be. therefore, i was hoping that someone who has gotten over MDD by themselves could help me out. i'm aware that i should see a therapist, but the thing is that i can't go to the therapist nor pay for the consult by myself, which means i would have to tell someone about it and i really don't want to.

thanks for reading!

I daydream a LOT of the time. That's the only thing to keep me going. Literally.

My own life is full of torment and I never have had any control. With the worlds I create, I am a god.
