Small tasks appears as impossible tasks
Lately, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed even by simple tasks. My heart races over small things, and even setting up this 7 Cups account felt exhausting. Sometimes, my anxiety makes me clumsy—like spilling water just by holding a glass wrong. I also have frequent nightmares of being chased or trapped.
As a child, especially during fevers, I used to have similar “impossible task” dreams. Could my current struggles be linked to that? Or is this a mid-life issue (I’m 42)?
A past event still haunts me—missing a flight during a family trip due to my mistake. Since then, my anxiety seems worse. I also dwell on smaller setbacks, like an employee leaving years ago. Could these past incidents be making me more anxious now?
Lately, I’ve started snapping at my daughter over minor things. I don’t want my anxiety to affect my family. Am I experiencing panic attacks? Should I cut down on my tasks? I also practiced meditation and deep beathing in the meantime (though not consistently), but it didn't appear to help. Any advice would be really helpful.
Thanks

I think we have very different triggers but looking back many feel overwhelmed and think of all past moves that were a mistake OR we just thought they were at the time.
We cannot go back in time and fix a missed flight/ a mistake of any sort. We can not change it .. So we need to let it go. Do you think your whole world would be different if you had not missed a flight....
I am sure you do not want to instill in your child anxiety to sweat every thing to avoid a mistake or misstep ... we KNOW how that feels and I would not wish that on others let alone someone I care about.
small tasks can feel like a lot but instead of avoiding making them seem bigger we can grab a hold and be happy we are clearing our to -do list.
