Talking to your young self:

Think back to a specific moment of your young life when you were at a major crossroads or in a time of struggle or hardship. Imagine you’re sending a one-sentence postcard to a specific version of your younger self:

What age are you addressing it to, and what’s the one thing they need to hear most?

when looking back we often see many other options then we did in the moment.  many times, in life I wish I could tell my younger self to follow my heart more than my brain.   I would not have missed some things and taken more opportunities because in the end we do not get a do-over on anything.

people I wish I had kept in touch with things I wish I had tried.   we generally regret the things we did not do.

I would tell my 14 year old self, to speak up, stand up for herself and you are more than enough and you don't deserve this 💚 🤗

You can and will get through it all with God making your path. Just listen to Him.💖

I don't have a specific age as it was all a struggle. Pre-teen/teen..

It's hard and you're not coping and unfortunately it's going to get worse but what changes is now you have a beautiful expressive voice that no-one can silence and that's going to make it so much more bearable. You will achieve the dream you always wanted too :)

Applogies this probably isn't quite what you mean, but I had an awful habit of doing just that when I was young, I used to talk out loud to myself all the time and occasionally still do. Being suspected of having ADHD isn't really a surprise, I'm sure talking to myself was a release valve 😉😉

It's partly why I recently started writing myself a letter every day, it hasn't stopped the talking but was worth a shot 😉

@RunningMachine

a letter a day is an intriguing journaling idea.. do you review them at a later date?

I haven't been, I'm thinking of looking at a 'Manifestation' journal for the structure which would be easier for later review/tracking. My letters are stream of conscious, it's all still relatively new to me, trying to find something I'll stick to that might work.

Age unknown

You overthink everything so no matter what I tell you, you'll overthink it, but just once in your life please please please stop thinking and just say what you want to you family, I know you're scared but they love you and even if it ends poorly at least you can say you are braver than your older self, how cool would that be, and yes I know it said one sentence but I decided to make it a run on sentence cuz they didn't specify it had to be grammatically correct lol!
